Please let 2010 continue like this

Maybe this thread should be restarted monthly, with monthly reminders of how well things are going. :goodvibes Although, wasn't the original thread just started in the last week or so?

Yesterday was a bad day but I guess that speed bumps will happen. I'm not going to let it get me down, I still say that 2010 will be my year!

Seems some people just have to tinkle in the cornflakes of others.

OP, I am happy 2010 is starting out so well for you. I remarked to a friend on Friday the same thing. 2009 was surprisingly good despite the terrible economy. 2010 has been lovely so far as well!

So far so good here too. 2010 will be as good as you make it and I am planning on it being great.

It is nice to see someone positive when there are so many "woe is me" threads out there.

I agree..:goodvibes Sometimes having a "great" year - regardless if it's financial; emotional; relationship wise; health wise; etc., is largely dependent on ones attitude..

Before 2010 even arrived, I had this very, very positive attitude about it - and I'm not even sure why.. I just "feel" like it's going to be a very good year - and I'm willing to do whatever I can that is within my control to make it a great year!! :thumbsup2

Well said. I think that there are things that you can't control that happen to you but how you react to them is completely in your control. I felt and feel the same way about 2010. Now I just have to go out there and make it as good as I am envisioning it.

I learned long ago as far as the internet goes is to never wrestle with a pig. You just get muddy and the pig likes it! When you ignore those who want to dogpile, attack, or tinkle in cheerios, they just go away.

I am so happy to see that others have made the decision to be positive for 2010. The one variable change from day to day that you can control will always be you! There is a great example in the first chapter of the book I referenced. Take a look at two people stuck in traffic. One is completely wound up, mad at the world and having a miserable experience. The other is listening to his music or her book on tape and just going with the flow. I know which one will have a better day at work.

It also flows organically as the second person stuck in traffic will also be more pleasant to clients in her tone and demeanor and will more likely make a sale or someone's day.

Unfortunately no matter how good some things are, it can't always make up for the really horrible things that we can't control. A positive attitude and optimism can only take one so far. Trust me, I know. I'm the positive one in the family and even I am Eeyore right now. I just don't have any more positivity left to give to the current situation. I have hope and prayer and even those can only do so much.

Things need to get better soon in order for this to be a good year. Period.

I don't know if I am in one of those categories, but I am definitely not going away

I think it's great that you're having lots of success in 2010 - financial and otherwise. I question the need to notify the disboards about that on a regular basis. It comes off somewhat trollish/braggish, imo, when so many are struggling. Like dancing at somebody's funeral. :confused3 I think you know that and don't really care, which is why you continue to do it. So, continue to post your "life is swell" updates, I'll continue to roll my eyes, and life will go on as always.

ITA. I may get points, but I think someone is just on here to play games with everyone to see what sort of outrageous stories they can get people to believe.

Congrats to you. Wish I were so lucky. I was terminated and the reason was *&^$! I called corporate who is going to look in to it. Oh well. I just don't get it. I worked SO hard to maintain this job with everything we have going on. New home in the works, school, etc. I DON'T GET IT! :sad1::guilty: Manager from another restaurant told me to come back on Monday to talk to him. He was looking to talk to me 8 months ago when I lost my job at Ruby's, but I got the job at Ryan's and didn't want to leave so soon you know. Wonder, just wonder...:confused3

I apologize. I didn't mean to hijack your thread.

:thumbsup2 I think some people like to post things and then watch the stuff fly, while sitting back innocently. I am sure the mods are on to things like this, so hopefully nobody will be getting points.

Dan, the post about the cow leasing is on the gifts thread started by the OP.

I just saw this post.

I have that book and love it. It really helps my attitude. :thumbsup2
It is really funny but this woman has seen tons and tons and tons of woe is me how awful life is type of posts day in and day out. Many of them do deserve sympathy, but some are the results of the posts own doing.

There is nothing wrong with posting a thread to show that there are positive things going on every day. If it bothers people so much they can just ignore them. It is not boasting nor bragging but sending out a message of positivity to counter the negativity out there that is posted day in and day out.

Just curious, but where all all these negative threads you speak of? I see a few threads asking for advice, but I don't see an overabundance of negative threads. I do see one where you started a thread complaining about people giving your daughter gifts. Are those the type of negative threads you are trying to counter with threads like this positive one your started?

Have you ever sent an e-mail to the wrong personÉ

How about posting some threads about the wonderful, positive, upbeat things that are happening for other people? You know - people who have been down on their luck and have made positive improvements in their lives. That would certainly counteract all of this alleged negativity.

Like the thread about Haiti donations that Walle started. Awesome thread. :thumbsup2
