For the first time my parents are coming to Florida with us and DH and I would really love to do something on our own with out the children (DGP have agreed to babysit!!!) but of course we can't think of anything that we would like to do ~ so any suggestions of maybe a nice restaurant or a show!!

Hi Claire,

Are you looking for a nice romantic time with DH or something a bit more party like?

Just to help work out what ideas you might like :)

Karen

we would prefer something on the quiet side ~ DH don't get to much time to ourselves, together without the boys, shift work, and Daniels training schedule get in the way most of the time. I like the idea of Cirque but not to sure how the boys will feel if we go without them.

What about a nice romantic meal then with some time spent together with DH?

I really enjoyed a lovely meal with DH at one of the World Showcase restaurants and then a lovely walk around the lagoon - it sounds so simple and something you can experience with your family on a normal park day, but somehow, at night, with just me & DH it was truly romantic and magical with the lights twinkling and a slight breeze blowing :wizard:

Failing that how about a meal at one of the restaurants around the MK resort area (Narcossee's, Citrico's, Artist Point, Kona Cafe??) and then watch Wishes from the beach at the Poly?

I agree with Karen about walking round the lagoon at Epcot. We did this several times last year when staying at BCV. When it's dark and the music is playing, it becomes incredibly romantic - you don't even need to watch the fireworks.

How about a great dinner and entertainment at Raglan Road, the new Irish Pub at Pleasure Island? An admission fee is not necessary at RR.

I particularly like Monday nights because it's not crowded and also, because the awesome bass player/ singer Mark, from Off Kilter will often sit in with the band.

Another nice, romantic evening can be had at the Boardwalk. Dinner at Flying Fish or Spoodles, drinks and fun after at JellyRolls, a stroll to watch some of the old fashioned buskers, jugglers, magicians, etc.

we had a fantastic grown up evening at Arthurs 27 - a restaurant on the 27th floor of what was called the Wyndams Palace hotel (I think its changed name now though) - a really amazing night. Food was the best meal ever eaten (and half the price of Victoria and Alberts).. the atmosphere was lovely and relaxed and not at all "poncy" - but the best thing was these huge picture windows that gave a panoramic view of Downtown Disney and from the other side, you could see the Epcot Fireworks..

It was a wonderful evening.. Ive been meaning to go back ever since..

I've done a little research because I've always wanted to try Arthur's 27. Sadly, it's gone. 1900 Hotel Plaza Blvd. now lists the Buena Vista Palace as the hotel at that address and the 27th floor is now the Top Of The Palace Lounge, serving cocktails, appetizers and desserts. Here is a link, it still sounds like a lovely place to go!
