It's been several years since I've visited Universal Studios and I am planning a trip for sometime in July 2010--2 adults and 2 kids. Tentative dates are July 11-18--I'm trying to decide if I should stay for 5 nights or 7 nights. I purchased my tickets on-line more than a year ago but they are supposed to be no-expiration. I was formerly a Loews First Gold member, but I don't believe that I qualify for any specials now that Lowes has the new YouFirst plan. Which of Loews hotels has most recently been refurbished? RPH or PBH?

I'm also a AAA member. Is there historically a SuperSavers or somthing similar for July? DOes anyone have suggestions on how I can assure the best rate? Also, what kind of upgrade might I possibly qualify for with the Lowes plan?

If anyone feels like sharing their advice, I'd gladly appreciate it!

One last question--does Universal offer any discounts for teachers or government employees?

Thanks!!!!!

you would get the best rate with the Super Saver rates.

they will come out in the beginning of the year.

book now and modify your rate when the discounts come out.

call and talk to reservations and ask them for the best deal they have now.
book what is good for you but keep checking when other discounts come out.
The SS rate is for the general public

you would have to start over with loews youfirst on the membership levels.
you can find the new rules on loews hotels website.

AAA is good for discounts on the onsite hotel rooms and for 10% off food and merch in the park and at city walk.

the tickets you bought a year ago, are still valid.

the expiration countdown begins on the first day you use them for the parks.

Thanks for the comments. I'm going to try to go ahead and book this weekend.

Last time, we stayed at HRH, this time I'm trying to decide between RPH and PBH. Which is in the best condition?

flip a coin...........

the lobbies of both are always in great condition.

i stayed at one and visited the other hotel just over 2 weeks ago.
thought both were fine.

room i had at rph was in great condition.
had a king suite.

I stayed at both in July, King suite at RPR which was great, but probably a bit biased toward RPR as its our fav resort. PBH was lovely to , rooms slightly bigger and the suite also had a bathroom and shower in the lounge area which was good, just decide which theme you favor and go with it.
