Please Help Quickly... Can You Link The Special Edition Magic Bands?

Hi~
I hope some of you experts might be able to help me super fast. My mom just purchased the special edition "Fun in the Sun" Olaf magic band on Ebay for my son who loves Olaf without speaking to me first. It says it's never been used and is linkable but I thought I read somewhere those are not linkable. We have no use for it if we can't use it for our upcoming trip.
Please reply quickly so I can contact the seller before it ships.

All MagicBands can be purchased in the "link it later" mode. If it's never been opened, then it can be linked. The ID number is on the underside of the band.

Thank you for your reply. I'm so glad to know this. My mom was only trying to surprise my son but I was afraid she had messed up this time!!
I could have sworn I read somewhere you couldn't link them later.

If this is one of the Limited Edition MBs sold at the Hollywood Studios this past summer it can not be linked later. When we bought ours we had to present our current MBs to link them. You could also link them via Memory Maker or a valid Park ticket.

We are just back from a pre Christmas visit, We loved the Limited Edition MVMCP bands . They are still done the same way, linked in person upon purchase, with the same criteria. Current MB, Valid park ticket or Memory Maker. I believe it is all Limited Edition MBs that are not link able later - to prevent resellers from profiting from the sale of the bands.

Anyway this could have changed? The seller says the instructions on how to link to MDE are included in the box.

These are open edition bands. (as stated in the linked article) The previous Frozen Summer bands and the MVMCP, MNSSHP, & Star Wars Weekend MBs are all Limited Edition bands capped at 5000 bands per run.

It no longer matters if the bands are Limited Edition or Limited Release. ALL MagicBands can be sold in the "link it later" mode.

MNSSHP and MVMCP bands were sold in the link it later mode. Olaf never sold out and Yoda may still be available.

With the Seller giving such detailed info, you'll be fine.
