My DS (15) is in panic mode, were at BCV's from Dec 20th thru Jan 2nd. He had a friend lined up to come with us and now he had to cancel. I assured him he would meet lots of great kids his age around the resort, pool arcade etc. He's skeptical !!!!
If anyone is going at that time and has teenagers would you please reply to this post, so we can get on with our lives:crazy:

Many thanks and Happy Thanksgiving

I am not going - but put his mind at ease - teenagers seem to find each other - without trouble.

If he can't find any at BC/BCV/YC - especially at SALB - then BW is just a short walk away - not to mention the parks.

if he is still having problems (which I really doubt) - then take him to IOA - that place has loads of teenagers - or has when we visited.

We have stayed at the Yacht and Beach Club numerous times and since joining DVC 4 times....Your 15 will have NO problem meeting kids. Our 14 year old daughter seems to meet up with so many boys and girls while on vacation it isn't funny. She has many DVC friends she has meet and keeps in touch with via IM's and emails druing the year. And the great thing with DVC is that you know the kids are coming back again. Its not their once in a lifetime trip.

We also will be at the BCV"s from Dec 27th until the 6th of Jan. I'm sure if your son is in the arcade at night or at the pool during the day he will meet up with our daughter. Sometimes I think she should get paid for being the teen's social coordinator....:)

He will be fine without friends. My daughter has said she will never ask anyone cause she has so many already down in WDW...:)

If he were a girl....I'd mention we have a 13yr old at the BWV...but since he's not a she.....we will just wave across the lagoon....LOL:wave2: :wave2:

How about directing him to Downtown Disney? He'll have a great time. Disney Quest is made for the teen set. All kinds of virtual reality games, video games, build your own virtual roller coaster. I think most boys that age love it.

How about Magic Masters a few doors down for a good magic show? He is probably old enough to enjoy an early show at the comedy club at Pleasure Island, too. I think there is also a Virgin Records and an AMC movie theater.

MGM I think is by far the best for this age group. Rockin Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, cool themed restaurants. I can't imagine he would be bored. My son loves it.

It might be too cold, but a water park might also catch his interest.

disneycrazed139 beat me to the Disney Quest suggestion. There are a lot of activities for groups there, as well as a sort of Internet Cafe on the top floor. As long as he's the outgoing type, I'm sure he'll find some guys to share his company there.

If you don't have UPH or PAP passes, you can get single day tickets to Disney Quest for about $20 through vendors like Ticketmania.

Another option at BCV is the volleyball. Seems like a way to meet people. I don't remember if 15 is old enough for the fitness center.

We'll be at OKW Dec 25-Jan1 and BCV Jan 1-2 . My 17 yo son practically lives at Disney Quest when we are there- and the person he asked to come is now not coming either- maybe they will meet up those last days. I don't think he has tried out the arcade at BCV yet. We got him an annual DQ pass starting the year he was 15.( this was a Christmas trip also). Taht way if he just goes for a few hours at night I don't feel like it was a waste of money. I still was able to get the Disney Club discount in Octobler this year.
The first couple of times when he went out on his own I was a little nervous but with common sense and the bus transportation he made out just fine.

We will not be there when you are there; but I have twin boy/girl 15 year olds and we are leaving tomorrow. They always seem to find someone to talk with while we are there. The BCV is a great place for teens. Last year my daughter brought a girlfriend and she said it was the worst time she had because they fought. The girlfriend did not want to do the things she wanted. I kind of let them go on their own in the parks and when we returned she said she missed being with the family. Who knows????
Hopefully this will be the best vacation that you son has ever had!!!!!!!!:teeth:

I won't be there but this past July I was there with 4 16 year old girls. They met tons of kids, in the quiet pool at night, in the solarium, if that's what they call the sitting room on your way into the hotel part of the resort. They still IM each other and talk about the great times. Just beware they hang out to all hours, we finally had to put a curfew.
Another place is they met a bunch of kids from the boats they rented on a daily basis. They would meet out on the lake, and exchange resorts, etc and get together. Lots of way for teens to meet.
Enjoy and don't worry.

There are tons of teens at BCV and BWV. My son has been there at every age from 16 on up. He usually brings a friend, but I think would have been as happy alone a couple of times - less competition for the girls attention!

We'll be at BCV 12/21-12/26 & 12/28-1/2. I have 3 DSs 19, 17 & 12. They'll be hanging out at SAB and the hot tub at BCV pool. Also will spend alot of time at DQ.

Thanks everyone for your great suggestions. I know he's going to make some wonderful friends.
