Hi All,
I am not sure what to do. When I started planning this trip I was planning on doing the 2007 version of the dining plan and paying OOP for a few char. breakfasts. Now I am not sure what to do...
1. Do the basic dining plan and pay OOP for the char breakfasts and TIPS.
2. Do the deluxe plan and budget for the tips on that plan
or
3. Pay OOP for everything

My only fear with #3 is that Disney is going to hike up the menu prices to almost force you into some kind of dining package.

When we honeymooned in WDW in 2002, we had the silver plan (2 wish per day thing) that could be used on all kinds of things, not just meals. I think it was $67.00 per person per day and I think we got out moneies worth as we did la nuba, fultons, Cindy's, hoopdedoo, poly dinner show and much more. Considering our trip next year is over 6 years later the deluxe dining plan doesn't look too bad except for having to do the tips seperate.
My only other issues with the plans are what happened to all of the DTD restaurants and all of the snack options??? I wanted to be able to snack my way around Epcot, but it looks like I will not be able to do that with these new plans. Please share on what you think we should do.

I will be DH and Myself. Some days we do two sit downs but one of them is an early char. breakfast and the other would be a dinner.

Thanks!

Do oop for all. DH and I did a plan our first trip and it was great but we prefer to go planless, it allows us to be spontaneous and it's always worked out cheaper than if we'd had the plan. We do have the disney dining experience card and that gives us a 20% discount so it pretty much covers tips. We don't have kids so its just the two of us.

my wife and I, I would be all over the deluxe package. We would do a signature restaurant every night and probably a character breakfast or lunch every day. Who needs a third meal with one large and one good size sit down meal.

Alas with young kids (our eldest is a bit hyper and very excitable) we won't be doing the dining plans. Rides and attractions are a must for us. We did the dining plan last year and had to pull the kids out of line a couple of times to make the ADR. This year we did a few TS restaurants focused on characters.

It was worth it to see them at Cinderella's Castle and Crystal Palace. I'll just have to wait a little bit.

Dining plans are generally geared for those who prefer TS meals. The deluxe plan seems to made with you in mind. You don't have to do anything right now, your trip is a ways away. Have a great time!

I would do the Dining Plan, also. I read somewhere that they may add to the list once they get all their "ducks" lined up . . . apparently, every year they add a few, take a few, add a few . . . before the final list goes up. Not based on experienced here -- just what I've read. I wouldn't make any firm decisions yet -- just wait awhile and see what happens . . .

The answer depends on you. Take a look at the menus and compute what your food will cost. We only use the DDP for maximum value. Our average cost per adult would have been $60 per TS meal.
