Please help! MK the day of Spectro/FITS, or the Fri. before Memorial Day??

I need your advice ASAP on this issue, because my husband might have to do a little juggling of his work schedule. Which would be better, crowd-wise, at the MK...this Wednesday, which is the only day of the week the Magic Kingdom will be having Spectromagic and fireworks, or this Friday...which happens to be the start of Memorial Day weekend? Do you think the crowds won't be that thick until Saturday? We don't care that the park closes at 7pm Friday as opposed to 9:30pm Wednesday...our priority is to be there when the park has the lowest crowd levels. Please don't suggest we go to a different park- this is a one-day trip and we are definitely going to the Magic Kingdom, and these are the only days we can possibly go. TIA!!!

Unfortunately I cant answer your question directly however my wife and I decided to take a whirlwind disney trip this weekend (mem day) for our anniversary.

We were calling around different places (Biloxi, Chattanooga etc) last week and everyplace was booked solid, but then we tried Disney. They not only had plenty of hotel space open but they even had manyf Passholder rate rooms still available. Ended up w/ a very good rate at Wilderness Lodge (was calling with intentions of maybe a moderate). So they may not be that inanely busy (well I'm hoping).


Even if they are packed we are determined to have a good time - so we don't have any huge Must-get-it-done plans - just to take in the atmosphere and have fun.
