Please Help me to EXPLAIN

I need help explaining to friend of mine. She is from Mexico and is not use to how certain attractions in Disney are considered American Icons.

Can some one help explain the significance it is for Disney to change or add to a classic attraction like Pirates of the Caribbean. With Disney changing the ride slightly next year. I have been trying to expalin to her how it is a big deal.

Can you help me explain further?

Well in all fairness I am not sure I would consider it a "big deal". It would be a big deal to me if they closed an attraction like Pirates but if they are modifying it a little that really does not register all that much on my radar unless of course the rehab time is during my trip.

Maybe someone will have to explain it to me as well?
