I've been killing myself trying to save money on AK resort. We are going from June 11-14 with a 2 day base ticket and I can't figure out how to get a dicount for anythnig. PLEASE HELP ME, I'm currently paying $270/nigt at AK and I know they offer a 10% discount for AAA, which of course, I don't have.....any other suggestoins?

If you book on Travelocity, you can get $50 off a 3 night stay with the code save50 at checkout. Not really good, but it might help. You have to book by 3/31.

Buy AAA membership you'll have the money back in 2days of discount. Also change your dates. You are booking at one of the highest demand times at Disney.

You could also select a lower class of room or a non Deluxe resort to cut hotel expense. Good luck.

Sometimes it really pays to be flexible with your dates we usually go during value season b/c we want to pay the cheapest rate but if thats not an option for you then you will just have to sign up for AAA

Two options that might work for you:
1. Rent DVC points. If you are able to rent points for $13 per point, then a value studio will run $143 on Wed. and Thurs. night, and $273 (with no taxes charged) on Fri. and Sat. nights. I saw points for rent for less than $13 on this board. Also, the value rooms may not be available but even a savannah view studio runs $195 on Wed. and Thurs. nights and you could pay cash on Fri. and Sat. Links to point charts (check out Magic Season) and the rental board follow:

2. Make a reservation and start paying on it but do not pay it off; if any other discounts come available then you can apply them to your reservation as long as there is a balance left. Perhaps season passholder discount will come available and sometimes you can save as much as 40%. We bought one pass one year and still saved money on our room. However, I don't know if these discounts are ever available during the regular season.

Renting DVC points is best but check availability first - sometimes DVC runs out of room before WDW reservations.

I hope this helps. :cutie:

Unless it's different for different seasons, you should be able to get a 20% off discount off deluxe resorts from AAA-that's what we were quoted for our recent trip and we stayed at AKL.

AAA membership is worth it in itself, especially if you have a car. You get a ton of other discounts using it as well (not necessarily all WDW related, but they are handy!) I would look into this. It will be a better discount than the Travelocity one.

Worse comes to worse, you could do what we did and do a split stay-saves a bit of money this way.
