I have called a few places for the second part of my vacation here is my choices

1 Magic Castle......Mini-suite 31.99 plus tax per night
2 Quality suites maingate east... 1 br suite $69.95
3 Days suites maingate east (old town) 1 br suite $39.95

I am mostly interested in 1 and 3 due to prices.....I have read alot about the Days inn but am confused on some say it is OK and others say it is a dump???

Please help.

Thanks

I would steer clear of Days Inns, but that is my opinion.

Another reasonably priced hotel is the Microtel, if you put a search I had asked about it once, although never stayed there. The one by Universal looked very nice, again I haven't been in it. Do check out the Hawthorne suites, we love them and they are very reasonably priced and it includes a hot breakfast and happy hour in the evening. We stayed at the Hawthorne by Universal and the one by the airport and loved them both.

and I understand if the Days INN is old and worn, but is it at least clean???

What about Magic Castle??? Anyone been to either or both...

Thanks Mjasp!

from around a year ago. She stayed at Magic castle and liked it.

Where did you find the $31.99 rate?

How long do you need a place for?

I just called the hotel and that was the price I was quoted???

We only need it for 4 nights since we are in Titusville for 2 and Disney for 7.

THanks everyone!!

where are you staying when you are there? we may also go to teh beach for a couple of days...

I've pretty much answered this in many other posts but since Search rarely works, I'll summarize here. If you can catch a time when Search works, search for "Days Suites" and you'll probably turn up my full report.

I haven't stayed at Magic Castle but I have stayed at the other two - Quality Suites in March 2002 and Days Suites in November 2002. Here's the run down.

Quality Suites - newly renovated lobby and exterior but older rooms. Plenty of space. Kitchen has some basic supplies though ours had only cheap plastic flatware and no spoons. The place was clean and well maintained. Price includes breakfast which is ok, nothing fancy, and laid out rather poorly - the room is much too small for the number of guests so its kind of hard to maneuver around in there. Best to grab your food and take it back to your room.

Days Suites - Prior to our trip, I read a lot of negative reviews on these boards, but a couple of weeks before we left, one of my employees stayed there and came back raving about the place. Her pictures all looked nice and we stuck with our plans and stayed there. We were very glad we did. The place is old - no hiding that. Some of the furniture was a bit worn, but everything was decent, clean and functional. The living room was huge, had a tv, sofa 2 end tables and 2 chairs and a Murphy bed.

Kitchen was stocked with cooking utensils, dishes, glasses, etc. Full size refrigerator/freezer, table and chairs for 4, microwave, stovetop, dishwasher, sink.

Bathroom was average hotel bathroom with shower-tub combo.

Bedroom was very large with 2 double beds, one end table between them. Plenty of closet space. A counter top and sink with wall mirror. And a 2nd tv.

Room and property were clean and well maintained. Staff was friendly, spoke English and were extremely quick to remedy two minor problems we had during our stay.

Hotel is right next door to Old Town which is a great place to spend some time in the evenings when the parks close early. Also, our reservation included about $40 worth of free ride tickets.

I think its a great deal for the money, which sounds like exactly what you are looking for. We were in building J which is toward the middle of the complex and a little further from Old Town. We requested a room facing away from Old Town just in case the sound travels, but it really doesn't.

If you are looking for luxury, go elsewhere, but if you are looking for clean, spacious accomodations in a great location for a fantastic price, this is the place.

I have stayed at the Magic Castle closest to
Disney and I would say it is adequate.
Don't espect anything great.
A/C works good and the breakfast is a real
big plus , all in all it is a real money saver and
just a place to stay.
Days Inn Lake Side, not as good as Magic Castle
but, we made do with it.
Hope this helps.
