I'm learning so much from this site--I started scrapbooking by selling for CM, but stuck to their stuff. Now that I don't sell, I feel free to try new things. I really would like to start journaling on my computer, using all the cool fonts you guys talk about. I'm not sure I completely understand how though (please don't think I am really dumb!!!). Do I just print it on my acid/lignin free paper and cut it out? What if I want it to blend with a white page--do I use white paper or is there clear material I can use? How does vellum work? I usually do my layouts while hanging out with friends--but my journaling suffers because of my distraction with spelling mistakes and forgetting what I really want to say. If I did my journaling ahead of time I could plan it right into the page layout. I'm so excited!!!

I've done some on my regular white printer paper, which is acid/lignin free. Then I mounted it on card stock the same as the pix on the page. I'm planning on borrowing DDIL's Sizzix machine & tag die so that I can put some on those instead of the regular CS mat.

I haven't tried printing on the vellum yet, but that's next on my list. You might want to do a search on vellum for the details, but I believe you are supposed to print on the "rough" side. As far as attaching it to the page - some people have said that you can see the vellum tape right through the vellum. I was planning on using eyelets to attach some of the journaling. The others I'm planning on just using the regular repositionable tape & covering the corner (where it's stuck down) with the edge of a mounted picture or a sticker or something.

I just started doing computer journaling last week. I'm also a former CMC using mainly CM products. I formatted my journaling in Microsoft Office Publisher. I created a text box the size I wanted my text and did it that way.

I did have to cut down my CM 10x12 paper to fit in my printer, but otherwise it worked great! I did also try sticking my journaling paper onto a regular sheet of paper so I could use a smaller piece and it worked fine.

Here are some of my results:

This was printed on CM's vellum.

Good luck! I discovered that I love using the computer for journaling.

You don't need to stick to journaling on white paper... you can use any of your AF/LF cardstock. You can use a regular journal box or even journal on tags. When I journal on vellum, there is no rough side... they're both smooth. The best vellum I've found is by Close to My Heart... no smudging... dries instantly.

If you have any LSSs, I'd recommend taking a class or two.
