Please Help Me Decide - Palo Plans

We are doing a 7-day Western Magic and will soon be able to call and book our Palo reservations (we purchased the REAS). I need some serious advice about which night is best for our Palo dinner. We have late seating, and our kids are 9 (twins), so we don't want to miss any potentially fun opportunities to dine with them. They got new dresses, so we will want to be together on the formal night.

Right now, I'm considering choosing Tuesday night, after the Grand Cayman port call. Regardless of whether we'd be in Lumiere's (LAPLAPL), Parrot Cay (PLAPLAP) or Animator's Palate (APLAPLA), it doesn't seem that we'd miss anything of consequence.

My thoughts:

- It would be the 2nd go-round in AP. Is it true that they only do the "show" in AP during your first appearance in that dining room?

- The morning after our Palo dinner is breakfast in bed, which would be the morning we dock in Cozumel. Since we don't dock until 10:30 am, we should have plenty of time to enjoy breakfast.

- By mid-week, our daughters should be comfortable with the ship and the club and won't object to being on their own for dinner.

- Choosing something mid-week still gives us plenty of flexibility if we want to change our plans during the week.

Can you let me know if there are any flaws in my reasoning? And, if we get a preference between the 3 rotations, which should I choose?

Thanks!

Sounds like you thought it out thoroughly.

The 2nd night in AP is "showless". When you enter it's already all done up in color.

This is exactly the night we plan to go if possible. Mainly for the same reasons you have pointed out.

I believe that Hurcules is Tuesday night so you can still go to the early showing before taking them to the clubs & then going to Palo.

Your plan sounds great! However, I could have sworn that I read on the DIS that they've changed the dining rotation?? I believe doing the 2nd night in the same rest. as the 1st night. Am I totally losing it??? :confused3

I think that is only for the 4 night Wonder, not the Magic. (So, no, you're not losing it :) )

Pam, as other posters have said you've thought this out. This sounds like the perfect plan to me!! When you talk to Debbie regarding your REAS, ask if you can request that APLAPLA rotation. This will put you in Lumiere's for formal and semi-formal nights. HTH and BTW, WFD? LOL

Sounds like a good plan! I didn't want to miss any particular night/menu in the dining rooms, and had made a big deal with my children that we all ate dinner and saw the show together every night. What we ended up doing was going to the matinee on Thursday/at sea day (Disney Dreams), went to early seating dinner with the kids (had an appetizer), and went to a late seating dinner at Palo's. Worked out perfectly for us!

Have a GREAT time!!! :wave2:

Planning Palo's but dont want to miss the lobster :cloud9:
What night or where do they serve the lobster. Crusing 4/23/05  :hourglass :earboy2: :moped:

On the Magic, lobster night was semi-formal night (Thursday). Fear not. ;) Palos serves lobster that night too! We had both the filet and lobster! Delicious!
