I need advice from all of you experts - those who have stayed at the Beach Club resort in winter.

We are looking for a place to stay for 1 night before our Disney cruise :cool1: (can't wait!!).

This past Aug. we visited the Beach Club and my 2 dd's are begging to stay there. I know it is pretty expensive, so I thought staying for 1 night before our cruise would be do-able.

However, we have basically one reason and one reason only that we want to stay there, yes, you guessed it - Stormalong Bay!

I've never been outside WI in January (can't wait about that too  ), so I have NO idea what to expect as far as weather. Is it usually warm enough to go swimming during the day?

Our flight comes in before noon, so we'd plan to swim most of that afternoon (like 1-5pm). Then we would love to check out the Boardwalk at night (another first for us).

Any advice????????? PLEASE!

I'm doing sort of the same thing. We are staying at the Beach Club Villas (rented points) after our cruise in January for 3 nights. I have already warned my daughter that it may be too cool to swim. I was in Disney this past January and there were several days warm enough to swim during the day (not at night!!). It is just luck of the draw in January.

By the way.. When is your cruise in January? We will be on the 1/7/06 Eastern!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

We were there in January last year. We stayed at BWV and I sat in a sweatshirt while the kids swam. I was cold looking at them but they didn't complain. It really is hit or miss.

Thanks! That's pretty much what I figured. I'm not sure if we'll go for it or not. Our cruise is Jan. 19 for 3 nights on the Wonder.

It's definitely hit/miss for Jan. We were there this year from Jan 6th to the 14th and I didn't put on pants or a sweatshirt until the day we were leaving. :cool1: It was beautifully hot, and yes we swam during the day and at night.

The pools are heated, so that will help ... a bit ;) Sounds like a wonderful way to start your vacation. :goodvibes

My hearty Minnesota kids never think the water is too cold in Florida! Your Wisconsin kids will probably agree. Even if it is chilly, the thrill of being in the pool when the weather is below 0 it home is so exciting! :cold: :cold:

We went last year Dec 27 - Jan 2. If there is any sun, go for it. We went swimming, well, DH asd DD did (I sat with a towel over my legs). It was fine while the sun was out but it was a little cloudy and when it went behind a cloud, it seemed cool. It is a little heated so if it's anywhere decent weather, go for it. We Wisconsinites are used to cold. ;) If anyone has swam in Lake Michigan, it ia ALWAYS cold! If it is cool, go in the hot tub. Walking around Boardwalk is my favoriye. It's our "home" resort anyway but we stayed at the BC ans love the pool. We used to love pool hopping over to it. The cruise is also great. Tell your kids to go to the camps or clubs they have. Ours loved them when we went a few years ago and you get "quiet" time! :cool1:
