Please Help Me Choose a Wedding Dress UPDATE pg. 9: It's been chosen!

My favorite, by far, is #3, without the sash. I think it is the most flattering.

#1 I really like the top part of it, but it seems like there is so much dress at the bottom that it makes you seem shorter. But, once it is hemmed properly for your height, that might make it okay. But if this is the one that makes you feel most like a princess on your special day, that's the one you should get.

I like the soft skirt of #5, but I am not a fan of the top.

#2 seems to lack character (if a dress can have character) to me, and #4 I don't think the top is a good style for you.

I would choose number one, in white though as that would look better with your coloring, without straps, and maybe shorten the train. Trains are hard when you are short! I know, I am short too. I had my train length halved and it was still looked awfully long--it looked great once it was bustled up, but down it was a little overwhelming.

If you go with that gold shade (which I think is pretty, by the way), I wonder if you will have difficulty finding a matching coverup for the church ceremony. They won't let you wear a strapless gown at a full Catholic ceremony, will they? Or maybe things have changed since I was married....it was 13 years ago!

I love both the first and last gowns. Trust your instinct and wear what you feel best in. Congratulations!

I loved #3. Very pretty without the sash, but if you did a smaller sash either in red or some other Christmas themed color, or coordinate it with the color of your bridesmaids dresses, it could be pretty and tie everything together. Maybe you could also have it tie in a bow in back of the dress. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! You will look beautiful no matter what dress you choose!

If you love 1 than you should go with that. I love 1 also, i think white would look better. I also really really liked the other lace one, but without the purple sash. That looked really pretty on you. I didnt really like the other ones, except the one with like the tutu material. That one was pretty. Good luck and have a wonderful wedding..

Vote for 3 and 5. Both are very, very slimming on you . Necklines look good, not as much material so actually elongates your figure. The one with the sash--you could leave the sash off for the ceremony, but add one in your colors for the reception.

Don't like 1--the neckline--even without straps--just doesn't look right on you or flatter your upper body. Also there is a lot of material to deal with and it doesn't seem to flatter your whole figure.

No on 2 and 4.

6 is hard to tell when it isn't on you.

#1 - Is very princess-like, but how the beading comes up on both sides of the bodice, to me draws attention to your shoulders and makes the top look wide. There's a lot of heavy fabric on the skirt that looks like it weighs you down. I'm not a fan of the gold color on you.

#2 - The bodice is lovely how it gathers to the side, but there's too much "blank" fabric down the front of the skirt which makes it appear slightly "wide." All the action is focused on the side of the dress.

#3 - I love, love, LOVE how number 3 looks on you. It's very flattering to your figure and absolutely makes your waist look tiny. It doesn't seem heavy or too much fabric for you. It just shouts winter wedding to me. The lace along the bottom edge reminds me of snowflakes. You could wear a tiny satiny sash with this dress, tied in the back, either in white or the color matching the attendants' dresses. Very classy!

#4 - All attention is drawn to the puffy bosom and the waistband that is too wide for your figure. The gathered-at-the-waist skirt looks a bit like a flowergirl's dress to me and draws the eye to horizontal.

#5 - Looks kinda like a prom or debutante dress....

#6 - Very pretty dress, but you'd have to try it on. Cap sleeves can be tricky. With that said, I think the style may be very flattering to your figure. I like this second after dress #3.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

Even though people are slamming #5, it is by far my favorite on you although it is a little promish. And maybe not that dress but I prefer "simple" compared to all the glitz.

Number 1 would be my runner up. I don't like the other ones at all.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

I so agree....
I know that the first is your favorite in 'style'....
But with the first one, the dress is wearing you....
The third one, it is YOU... YOU are wearing the dress.
I can see this with your hair done with a simple veil.

(the last one of the actual photos (not the link) reminds me of a 50's prom/wedding dress.)

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

I must say that I do agree with what I bolded. You could go with a plain sash for the ceremony and then add color for the reception too.

Now after looking at them again I am going to say that #2 is probably the most flattering on you.

I guess for me, I don't like strapless and that is what bugs me.;)

Number 3 is my favorite...and I love that color has been introduced into bridal gowns. :goodvibes

I would say leave it white for the wedding and add a sash that matches your bridesmaids for the reception. :)

I vote #1 but think white is a better color on you than off white. :thumbsup2

Thanks for sharing your happy day with us! That was fun!

Its a tie between 1 and 2. LOVE the neckline on 1 and the color on 2.

Anything with a high neckline doesn't look well with girls who are bustier. It accenuates. And in my case they make me look like a linebacker as I have broad shoulders.

Have fun deciding! I've only done 1 dress shopping day and haven't decided. Granted we still have 10 months to go.
