Did you book the later stay first? Mine were in chronological order. Booked July trip and FP and then the Aug trip and FP

I was just thinking this myself. My June and Aung trips where booked in order.

I just did a test. I have a trip end of July into Aug planned and have FPs for 6 days. I just booked FPs for 3 days in July before my trip and 1 day in Aug after my trip. So I have a resort stay of 7 days but I am have 10 days of FPs booked.

I had also thought of that but OP can't even book something for today, which you are able to do and she hasn't yet linked a 2nd stay.

Perhaps it's how APs are coded in the system. Angi, you've had yours for awhile and probably keep renewing. OP is booking off of a new, this year, AP.

Some APs had infinite numbers of FPs per day, booked 3 at a time, as long as they hadn't maxed out their 7 day booking max. I think Disney keeps tweaking AP FP access and they've gone to the severe end that doesn't make sense.

To me it makes sense it stays 7 days or length of on site stay. I think if you have an off site before your on sit that is what screws it up. Also maybe the chronoloigcal order thing. Doesn't matter for us as we would be staying onsite if we did a trip in the next month and a half but I imagine locals could get into a tricky situation.

If anything, you should be eligible for Guest Recovery. Your onsite reservation allows you FPs for that stay. With an AP, you are eligible for a total of 7 days of FPs within a 30-day window. Your current 30-day window ends prior to your onsite stay, you should be able to have 7 days worth of FPs.

Maybe. Mine is not really old but we did get it before the new types began. We've renewed to the new one a couple months ago.

OP here. I wanted to give an update. After being on the phone with a cm yesterday for two hours I was told that there was no one else to talk with and nothing else they could do. They could not help me reserve fps. This was the way the system was designed to work. If I decided to stay offsite, I would not be able to book fastpasses, even day of fastpasses. I could book an onsite hotel reservation, but they could not tell me whether that reservation would open my fastpass booking privileges or not. Also, my trip was within the five days; so, if I booked it to test and then canceled I may or may not get charged the cancellation penalty.

At this point my husband wanted to cancel the trip. He already rolls his eyes with all the planning that is usually required, and then this happened. I was just so disappointed and frustrated because once we had booked airfare I had allowed myself to become emotionally invested in the trip. Then I got the idea to book a hotel stay a few days out passed my real vacation days to see if it would then allow me to book fps. I made the fake reservation and my window opened. I then spent the rest of the day trying to convince my already skeptical about Disney spouse that we should still move forward with the trip. Of course fp booking is a little tough right now, but I am being patient and persistent.

I am still really upset over the situation and the fact that Disney representatives are misinformed and/or don't seem to care enough to really look into this situation for me or for others that I am sure are having similar problems. The first person I spoke with basically told me go ahead and cancel your trip if the fastpass stuff is a deal breaker. She said that I should be glad that I was able to book 10 days of fp for my September trip because I should have only been able to book 7. I believe that this is wrong information and that I could have booked up to 14 days of fps for that trip as long as I had a corresponding onsite hotel reservation. I know this stuff is confusing, but isn't it their job to give out the correct information. They have already lost money from us for this trip. If it were up to my husband we would not be going at all. But, I convinced him to try to stay at a value resort to save money. We have stayed at the Poly and the Beach Club before. I am crossing my fingers that the rest of our trip goes smoothly. Thank you to everyone who shared information and tips with me. If it was not for this board and for your responses, this trip would 100% be canceled due to the spread of incorrect information and guidance by Disney phone representatives.

I think it's utterly ridiculous that they could not get you answers, and that you might have needed to cancel an entire trip because of FP+. Seriously, this is just nuts. There should not be these inconsistencies and lack of an accurate answer.

Yes, I would definitely email. Outline how you are unhappy with the inconsistent answers, and with someone telling you that as an AP holder you would not have any FP access if you stay offsite. That's just not right. And it's certainly not something you knew about before getting your AP. Also share the stories you have gotten here about how it seems to work differently for other people.

I guess the system recognizes a 60 day reservation as being "with in 30 days" and therefor counts any of those towards the 7. So basically local AP holders either need to make sure their onsite stays are shorter than 7 days if they want to book fastpasses with in the next 60 days or just complain until they fix this issue with the coding. I personally don't think the onsite reservation should count towards the 7 days especially since they usually aren't with in the next 30 days and are closer to the 60 (usually).

If I were to stay offsite in July I would have no fp to reserve. The system sees my September fps now 53 days away and lumps the 30 day window from today together. Basically I am using the 7 day annual pass available fastpasses already for my September trip and that leaves none to use for my July trip. This information is still not sitting well with me. The Disney website states "Annual Passholders can plan 7 days of FastPass+ selections within any 30-day period for one park per day. It does not mention that these passes disappear if you have another onsite resort reservation trip planned within 60 days. Seriously, this is all way to confusing and has put such a damper on my trip. Since my trips were not within 30 days of each other I thought I would be fine.

You have a 30-day window that does not include a future booked trip: you should be eligible for 7 days of FPs.
