I have a trip and FPs booked for September, 10 day trip. We are new AP holders. We just planned a last minute trip for next week and the system won't let me book fps. When I called I was told I could have no more than 7 fps booked in a 60 day time frame. This makes no sense to me. So, I can't book fp for two separate trips with two different resort stays. She said I would not even be able to make same day fps in the park because I already have more than 7 days booked for my future trip. Yikes - I don't think I even want to go now. I hate lines. Please tell me she is incorrect.

Are you staying on Disney property? If so, you can book for length of stay. If not, you can only book 7 days total.

In September we rented points and are staying at Bay Lake Tower. We have fps reserved for that trip. In July we are staying on property but have not decided on which resort yet. I didn't think it would matter because we are in the 30 day window right now. The lady on the phone said that even if I went ahead and booked my resort I would still not be able to book fps.

Don't bother calling. Book your onsite resort for next week, and then your FPs should be bookable.

The not having an onsite resort booked for July is what's holding the FP process up. The system is seeing that you have an upcoming onsite trip with FP booked for September, and it's not letting you book for July because of that. Once you do book a resort, you'll be able to make FP selections.

But, what if I wanted to stay offsite, shouldn't I be able to book up to seven days? Only Disney planning is this much work :confused3.

No. If you're offsite, you're allowed to select 7 days of FP. If onsite, you're allowed to book length of stay. Since you already have an onsite reservation with FP for September, that is overriding the ability to make offsite FP selections.

First of all, surprise, surprise, the phone CM was 100% wrong, If you have a resort stay booked, even with an AP, you can book for every single day of the resort stay, no matter if it's 5 2 day trips or 10 5 day trips. We have 1 10 day trip and 1 5 day trip right now and both have FP for every day.

And, I can right now go in to MDE and book FP for today, so clearly they are also wrong about not even being able to book FP if you stay off site.

Another fluke in the system, because I have a Resort stay, it "turns on" the ability to book FP for the next 60 days. I can go in right now and book FP for Sept 15, even though my last date of an on site stay is 8/31.

Well yes but you'd only be able to total 7 days or total number of resort stay days in the next 30-60 if you have an AP.

It's very frustrating, OP. I'm not sure there's a way around it other than either staying on site or canceling your later FPs until you use them on this trip.

On the phone now. Being told, "This is how it is designed to work. There is nothing to fix." You cannot have fps for the July trip.

Have you gone in and tried for yourself? I don't care what the phone CM says.
I have an AP.
I have a Resort stay starting Friday and another starting Aug 26.
I have FP for all of those and I can right now go in and book FP for today, tomorrow, and every single day between now and 9/15

Yes, I have tried myself. I actually hate talking on the phone and like doing everything online if possible. I get an error message. Something about having reached maximum fps allotment. The phone cm's keep telling me I am out of luck and I can't reserve July fps. I feel like crying.

And you have AP showing in MDE?
I can't imagine why you can't book the FP.
I can and it sounds like your situation is the same as mine, future resort stay and need to book FP for a date sooner than the Resort stay

I am describing your situation to the phone cm and she want to know how many resort days you have reserved in the 60 day window?

When did you get the APs - do you physically have an AP or is it a voucher? Not sure if that matters but trying to help...

We had a similar problem for the trip we just came back from. AP holders pretty much get screwed for fastpasses if you have 2 seperate trips planned within 60 days and you aren't staying on site or are waiting until the last minute to book your hotel. I was pretty disappointed when I found this out as it caused problems for my trip we just returned from (split stay on and off site).
I see that you have 3 options. (1) If you are staying off site, do you feel comfortable canceling your September fastpasses? Then you could book fastpasses for your July trip and make new fastpasses for September as soon as the July trip is over
(2) Or quickly book an onsite hotel for your July trip to make your fastpasses. (3) Cancel a day or 2 of fastpasses for your September trip to free up a day or 2 of fastpasses for your July trip- that way you won't go over the 7 days max fastpasses an AP holder can have.

Yes, everyone in my family has an annual pass and they are all showing up in MDE.
