Hello, I am almost too embarassed to admit this but our family is planning our first trip to WDW & UO for summer 2005. *cringe*. I work in a school so my holidays are committed. I can only go in July or August. Easter is also out. I have done some research and I know that I want to stay specifically in the Doubletree Suites in the WDW Resort for one week and then in the HRH in UO for one week. What I want to know is how early can I book these hotels - as I am a notorious pre-planner. I want to make sure that I can secure my booking for these specific hotels for the period that I can go?

Hope this makes sense and that someone can help. :)

Thanks

Mrs M Devlin

ps. We are a party of five: three adults and two children.

mmt....don't be embarrassed:D we actually booked our accommodation yesterday for 2 weeks starting 1 July 2005 at Sheraton's Vistana Resort (timeshare exchange). We are looking for a third week to tag on either side once availability shows up.

The short answer to your question is....I don't know. Hopefully others can help. If all else fails why not e-mail the hotels for advice?

It may be your first trip......you can bet your bottom $ it won't be your last:bounce: :bounce:

Good luck

Alex:D

Will you be booking your own hotels and flights, or are you hoping to find a package?

With your specific requirements it's probably going to be easier if you go the D-I-Y route to get exactly what you want, when you want, so I'd suggest getting in touch with the hotels now. They may be able to take your booking now but, if they don't have prices released for that far ahead, they may be able to put you in the system, with the option to confirm later on if you're happy with the prices. If they won't take your booking yet, they'll be able to tell you when they can.

Good luck with the planning! :)

Hi there, not stupid at all!!!!!:) , were ALSO planning our 2005 trip at present.

I presume you are doing a DIY holiday as you are set on what hotels you want to stay in, Im right in saying that with virgin you can only book a flydrive 11 months in advance(any preferances of who you want to fly with?), presumably you want a car also??.

IMHO I always pin down the flights first, as its easier to work the accmadation round, rather than ice versa, I would definatelty contact the hotels you are interested in an let them know rough dates of your intended travel.

I also work in education, and we are hoping to take a 3 week break at easter or may of 2005, so happy planning, ask as many questions as you like, coz theres one thing we are all good at on here is planning LOL:p

Thank you all for your replies:D I am indeed planning the DIY way. I think it's going to save me $ doing it this way rather than booking a package deal where somethings might not suit everyone in our family. Unfortunately I can't book flights first as most of the airlines I have searched won't let me book for 2005. So I'm going to have to narrow it down to a date in July. I think the weekend of the 4th July will probably be busy so perhaps sometime the week after that.

Since we are planning to stay in WDW Resort first, can any of you wise people tell me what is the best day to travel on? Given that the first day of our holiday will be all travelling - our second day will really be our first in the resort. So with specific reference to rides and parks what is the best thing to see first and then following on from that what is the least busiest day to see it on.

Finally, does anyone on the board have any links to itinerarys for WDW?

Thanks again

Martina :D
