I want it to be really spectacular....I want to see the huge gingerbread house I want to stay at the most festive resort......Please help...i want this to be unforgettable for my kiddos.......i have the unoffical guide to disney thanks to a friend on my mommy board....but what worked for you...and when is Mickeys christmas party...where can I learn more about all this??? Sorry to be such a flapper. I'm just as excited as my kids will be!!:rotfl:

First, go to the Disney World web site -- as time gets closer, it will have the dates for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and you can buy tickets for the event online, too.

On that site, you can also price out the resorts you're thinking about. The gingerbread house you're thinking of is likely in the Grand Floridian, however all of the resorts are decorated beautifully, so I recommend you choose the one that's best for your family and then visit the others. On the resort monorail, you can easily see the Grand Floridian, the Polynesian and the Contemporary. From EPCOT or Hollywood Studios, it's very easy to get to Boardwalk and the Yacht and Beach Clubs. And of course, all of the parks will have buses that go to other resorts and Downtown Disney so you can really see any resort you'd like and do some shopping at Downtown Disney.

Disney World holds Mickey's Christmas Party pretty often, so if you're going any time in December before Christmas, or in late November, you're likely to be there on a date it is being held, so I would go ahead and book reservations as soon as possible if you know your dates.

Any resort you choose will likely be magical and fun for your family. Have a wonderful time! :cool1:

Here are the dates for the Christmas Party - November 10, 11, 14, 16, 20, 21, 30, December 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11, 12, 14, 16, 18, and 19. Tix go on sale May 1.

I would suggest making your room reservations soon. We are DVC members...could not book DVC for some of our dates. Ended up with a cash reservation for three of our nights. We wanted to stay at a moderate, and there was only one that wasn't booked.

You are going to have a GREAT time. Christmastime at Disney is the best. We went last year after Thanksgiving and once in early Dec.

Here is what you don't want to miss

Osborne Lights at the Studios
Mickey's Party at MK
Holiday Storytellers and Candlelight Processional at Epcot

All of the resorts are decorated for the holidays. We stayed at POR. IMO Wilderness Lodge would be a nice place to stay during Christmas because it has such a warm feeling to it. The Grand Floridian has the big Gingerbread house. We took a break from MK and rode the monorail loop stopping at each resort on the loop to see the decorations. The Boardwalk Resort is also decorated really nicely.

Vist the WDW website and also http://allearsnet.com for more info on all of the Christmas activities.

Have a great trip! :)

I am also planning our first Xmas trip to the World. There is tons of info on the boards...so keep reading.

They say the Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom and the Grand Floridian have beautiful decorations.

I would decide on your budget and then decide on your resort. The Poly, Grand Floridian and the Contemporary are on the monorail line. Very nice for transporation to Magic Kingdom and Epcot.

The Wilderness Lodge has a boat to the Magic Kingdom.

The Animal Kingdom is all bus tranporation.

The Beach Club, Yacht Club and Boardwalk are all within walking distance to Epcot.

We decided on a split stay between the Grand Floridian and the Beach Club Villas...the best of both worlds!

Good luck in deciding :santa:

:welcome:

You didn't mention the dates you are planning, but keep in mind the week between Christmas and New Year's is the busiest week of the year.

Decide on a budget.

Choose...
  • your resort, (book soon)
  • package or room only,
  • ticket options... (base, hoppers, water parks and more)
  • Disney Dining Plan option... $38 for Adults, $10 for children (3-9) includes 1 Table Service meal, (TS) 1 Counter Service meal (CS) and 1 snack, per person, for each night of your resort stay.

Schedule Advance Dining Reservations (ADR's) at 180 days prior to arrival.

The all ears site has some pictures of the resort decorations. You can also read menus and prices.

Have fun planning!
