Please help explain code rates !!!!!!!

First of all, What are code rates and what is the difference betwwen those and other rates ?
Does this affect a Disny Dream maker package from the travel agencies..What should I do ???? HELP..First Timer
Are these packages good or is there something better out there

Tgrhop, you've asked a pretty complicated set of questions. My experience is that you can almost always do better planning your trip ala carte than with a package.

Codes refer to a (not so secret) code that disney requires you to use in order to get the discount on room only reservations. At various times and for various resorts codes will be offered in various ways (I know, that's really confusing!!) Most codes that are available at any one time are explained and devulged on a great website called www.mousesavers.com. These discounts usually fall into a few different catagories like those available to the general public, those available to Disney Club or Annual Passholders only, and a slew of others to specific groups of people like military or Florida residents, (or some other group I never seem to qualify for), etc.

You should price out the various parts of your package separately and decide if you really need everything being offered. Often packages throw in perks that you might not otherwise purchase. If not price the items you would really want and use and compare it to the package price. It seems like a package should be a better deal, but you might be very surprised.

code rates are discounts,
yes, travel agents (some, not all) will get you a discounted "code" rate. often the discounts are 30 - 40% off the regular room rate.

The discounts are almost always good for room only, the Dream Maker package and the Dream Maker - Silver Plan.
