Hi all,
I have been debating over this for months now and am ready to make a decision. I would like to know what everyone's thoughts are on these 2 shows. Has anyone been to both to compare them for me? My main question for Hoop de Doo...is there anything for the kids to eat? Most kids will eat the barbeque but my oldest son won't eat ribs or chicken so I wondered if there was anything else they serve that may not be listed on the Disney web page for Hoop de Doo? Like hot dogs, brisket or anything else...

PLEASE.....I would love everyone's opinion on these 2 shows! I need to make a decision asap! We're going at the end of April so I'm running out of time!!

Thank you!!

I'm not sure about the backyard BBQ but I know that HDDR will bring out "kids" food if you're kids don't like what is served. Hot dogs and mac & cheese from what I remember. There may be more as well.

We took DS5 to Mickey's Backyard BBQ and he had a BLAST!! It's a basic buffet line (upon entry) with kid friendly items. You seat yourself at picnic tables centered around the stage, and there is no 'bad' view. They sing, do a lasso 'show' and the kids get to interact with Mickey and the Gang A LOT throughout the evening. They dance with the characters and they come around the tables while you're eating for a one-on-one photo op. Dinner is outdoors in a pavilion, so dress for the weather. Everyone in our party (Ages 4 - 44) enjoyed themselves.

I've been to both. I will never go to the Barbeque again. The food is lousy, it's very crowded and it's very hot because you are only under an awning (NO AC). My family loves the Hoop Dee Doo. We've been there 2x and we are going again in October.

We just went to Hoop Dee Doo with our 6 year old son. The only reason we went is b/c I had the dining plan and we had table service credits that were going to expire the next day at checkout. The food was good - but to me not worth the $'s. I think the show itslef is worth the cost of admission. My hubby and I laughed until we had tears in our eyes! I consider the food to be sonething to do while the cast was off stage!
Knowing that you have kids though I don't know if it's worht their meal price. My little one was exhausted and slept through half of the show. When he finally did wake up - he was rolling laughing too! Under differnt circumstances, I would have been upset to waste so much money and not have him eat a thing. (he wouldn't have eaten any of the food even if he was awake, VERY PICKY). Bottom line - Worth the money for adults. but probably wouldn't pay to let my little one go back unless he develops an insane love for ribs and fried chicken LOL!!!
