My DH and I will be at AKL and the POLY during the week of May 2-9. I have read so many great things about concierge service and was wondering how much extra a night it ends up being. If on a budget is it worth it? How often do guests go back to their hotel to eat throughout the day? Sounds great but not sure if we should get it or not.(We have standard rooms right now but have been reading so many good things about concierge and are not bsure what to do).

If you are going to book a concierge room, there is a code out for the time of your stay. You should book as soon as possible because there are only a certain number of rooms at those prices.

We have stayed concierge and enjoy it. The snacks are nice throughout the day. AKL Concierge is a must do. I have heard good things about Poly. Both are good if they are in your budget.

Call and see how much more it would be than a standard room at the resorts you are staying at.

How many people are in your party? Are there children traveling with you?

We used the lounges quite a bit in the morning and from 5-7 but we don't go to the parks commando style all day and all night.

We enjoyed some of the extra things they were able to do for us like a cake for my DH and helping to arrange the proper park tickets we needed, etc.

If you stay concierge at AKL, most likely you will get a deluxe savannah view room which is bigger than a standard room.

Any more Q's?

at the Polynesian if you are paying regular rack rate a Garden Concierge room would be $100 more than a Garden room. Lagoon Concierge is $181 dollars more, this is without tax.

At the AKL since the standard rooms are so much less than the Polynesian garden rooms it is alot of difference. Concierge at AKL over a standard room is $241 difference per day.

Discounts can really bring down the total cost but it still be alot more than a standard room.

Whethter or not it is worth it is an individual thing... if you will enjoy the continental breakfast, and the convenience of having a staff there to help with any questions or last minute PS arrangements, then go ahead. plus at the Poly, the Hawaii longhouse is the best location! The views are the best on the lagoon view side, but the garden view has lovely views also, of the quiet pool and gorgeous tropical foliage.

If you think you will enjoy the extra pampering, and can swing the extra cash, it might be worth it to you!
Dont forget, you will not have to spend any $$ on breakfast if you stay concierge...

Laura :)
