Please Help! Are '08 AAA room rates out yet?? UPDATE!

I can't tell by reading some of the other threads if the AAA rates they are getting are for package or room only.... are the room only rates out yet???

YES, the 2008 AAA room only rates are out. I booked a room only AAA discount room this morning! Some of the CMs have been telling people that the AAA discounts are not out yet, but that's not true.

However, keep in mind that AAA discounts are not available for all room types. For example, I booked a lagoon concierge room and a garden concierge room this morning for the Polynesian resort for May 2008, and ONLY the lagoon concierge room showed an available AAA discount. So I got the discount on one of my rooms, but not the other.

Mine jumped by $230 because of all the changes they have made since we made the ressies. Our stay starts in value season, and under the old rules, it would have remained that rate through the entire reservation. Now our stay switches to peak 1/2 way through, plus we have 3 nights @ 146 (for a value!!!!) for President's Day weekend.... This will be our last trip to Disney for a long time. I know $230 shouldn't make or break our entire vacation, but I am sure we will be hit with more added expenses before February. So we realllllly need a AAA rate.

At 10:00 this morning, I modified our room only reservation for Feb. 1 - 9 (Value season) , 2008 at the French Quarter to a AAA rate. The discount was 20%. The nightly rate is $119.20 + tax of $14.91 for a total of $134.11 per night. All nights are at the same rate, even the weekend nights. It saved me about $260.00 for the week.

Ok, UPDATE:

I called back, got a different CM, and she told me right away she could do AAA. My total price went from $1428.32 to $1221.81. We are staying for 11 nights, and of those nights, this is the breakdown (it's nuts!! I did a spreadsheet to see what AAA did to each of the nights, I came within pennies of their new total): (Preferred Room)

Value (weekday & weekend, same price): 6 (took 20% discount) New total w/tax $84.98/night
Peak weekday: 2 (took 10% discount) New total w/tax $133.23/night
Presiden'ts Day Weekend: 3 (took 10% discount) New total w/tax $148.48

FYI~I also know this has been asked a lot on here about the AAA room discounts, she DID ask me for my AAA member number when I made the reservation! So if you haven't joined yet, depending on the CM, you might not be able to get it applied.

I was able to get GF club level with a AAA rate. And yes they did want my AAA member # (but they did last year when I booked BWI too). It may depend on the CM who takes the ressie.

They asked for my AAA number as well, when I booked this morning. In years past, they usually did ask for the number upon booking, but don't usually ask for it at check-in, however I'd make sure to have the card with you because they can revert you back to rack rate if they ask for it and you don't have it.

I got Coronado Springs Resort - Standard View for $157.79 per night incl. tax with my AAA discount during regular season as opposed to $165 + tax. They asked for my number as well.

You can just call Disney and see if they can apply the AAA rate for you. I just booked BWI for 10/20/08-10/27/08 and was lucky enough to get the AAA rate.

If they hold true to the 15%off in Summer Season, that will make my ressie go from $1025 down to $872. I'm just waiting for my Dreams TA to update me. I'm sure she is a little busy today.

I just renewed my membership, and the base membership price remained at $50.

I'm just waiting for AAA to release package rates. Hopefully that'll happen this week.
