Please help AP questions

I was looking at all the great rates people are getting with ap so i thought I had better look into things but nw I just have a ton of questions!

If I buy the $119 pass will I still get the great room rates? I looked at the black out dates and the date we want to go is not listed(last week in March) Do they ever surprise you by changing those? I do have to pay resort parking for that ap though right.

So if I get the $179 pass I get free parking, the great room rates and food discounts. Now it says I would get ticket discounts too. We are only planning to be there for 4 days and will not be going back all year so I would plan to just get DH and older DS the buy 2 get 3 free tickes and youngest DS would get his free. If I bought them at the same time I buy the AP do I get the 15%discount then or do I have to order them seperate. Then I would have to pay shipping twice and that means that is no discount. Do they ship me the ap or do I have to go in and get a photo ID and if that is the case how do I book the room and buy the discount tickets head of time. I would be driving from MI and would really not prefer to have to stop at the parks and get a photo ID before checking into my room.

Thanks for any help. I cant believe what great motel rates you get with an AP! Its $62 a night cheaper! So I really want to get 1 pass, it will more than pay for itself. I just need to know which would be the best value and how I can use it best.

you are not entitled to room discounts with the lower cost pass which is the power pass (with blackout dates). if you want to take advantage of a great room rate then you will need to purchase the preferred pass. with that being said, you do not need to purchase the pass until a room deal comes out. when you purchase the pass online, you will be give a confirmation number. when you go to the park for the first time, you will get a temporary admission ticket from the kiosk with your confirmation and the credit card you used to purchase it. use that pass to get into the parks and then go to guest services inside the park to have it replaced with a permanent photo pass.

as for purchasing tickets for your family, to my knowledge you can only get the discount by buying the tickets at the park. not always a great deal when they do often offer online deals so check out the price comparisons.

don't worry about having your pass for check in at the hotel either. i haven't yet heard of anyone not being allowed to check in without it. on my 3 trips there, i was asked the first time and told them i hadn't picked it up yet as i had just arrived. on my second trip they asked and i showed it but others have said that sometimes they have been asked to just bring it back at another time to show.

missmolly- i am in a similar situation myself right now and trying to decide what is best for me to do....fyi, the free parking applies to the park itself, NOT at the resorts. at the resort, you would have to pay the 10 dollar a day fee....good luck, hope you make the best decision for you!
