Hello lovelies :) We are planning a Disneyland trip but want to know which month to visit! We can do either Nov or Dec & want to come when it is fairly low crowds and nice weather. Would like to avoid Thanksgiving & candle light event & xmas. What would be the best weeks within these months? Thanks so much:)

I'd say the first 1-2 weeks of November would be your best bet. Low chance of rain, usually relatively light as far as crowds (who knows this year with the new California Adventure attractions though), and just a generally pleasant time to visit the park and Southern California. Early December works too but there's a higher chance of rain at that time and greater chance of cold days, but California weather is a lot like Oz weather so you can probably put quotes around "cold" (except at night time when it can indeed get legitimately chilly).

DGF and I usually go for a few days mid-week, mid-november (13-15 this year) to celebrate her birthday and the crowds are pleasantly low. Usually, the holiday decorations are up too.

The weather itself is very hard to predict here in SoCal but being from hot, East county San Diego we often find ourselves wearing beanies and hoodies, especially at night.

Hi Aussiedaisy I cannot help you with that we have only been in July but just wanted to say Welcome and if you pop over to the Australian board you will find a Nov/Dec thread with other Aussies who are going the same time:)

Hi AussieDaisy. Welcome to the boards.

Early-mid November seemed like a good time to go in 2008. We pretty much walked on for every ride. This year might be different because CarsLand has opened up. We did have a couple of warm days during this time; so it was just as well we brought the swimwear so we could go to enjoy the pool.

I've also been to the California in early December. It is usually cooler then and much more variable where the weather is concerned.

I find that outside of Disneyland and the shopping malls, things are much more Christmas-y in December than in early November. Most people will have put out their outdoor Christmas decorations in December compared to November.

I suspect that it might come down to airfare availability and $ for you as to whether you go in November or December.

Hope to see you round the Other Lands>Australia section! :goodvibes

Thanks so much everyone! I will check out the Aussie planning thread. We went in March in 04 & it was the quietest I have ever ever seen a Disney park but Nov sounds like it might be the best option for this year :)
