Calling on the mercy of the all-knowing DISers to help me out!

We have a four-family trip coming up in January around the marathon that several of us are running, and our dining reservation window is about to open up... We have three separate hotel reservations among us, and my question is this:

Without linking the reservations is there a way to make dining reservations for more people that you have under your hotel reservation? For instance, I have five in my party, and if I DON'T link the other hotel reservations to mine can I make dining reservations for all 20 of us?

Thanks in advance!

Yes you can - no need to link. People staying offsite can make ADRs too! You don't even need to list all the names or link everyone to the ADR by name.

You can make dinner reservations for as many people as you want. The number in the room/reservation does not matter. Just consider the situation where someone offsite makes a dinner reservation. Their hotel reservation would have zero people in it.

You won't be able to book the entire trip the first day of your reservation window if you don't have the reservations linked though. You would have to make each reservation separately each day.

As long as the OP is staying onside they can book at 180+10 for as large a group as they want. I booked BOG at 180+7 for a party of 7 when I only have 4 people linked on MDE at the moment (my sister's family hasn't decided if they're coming yet).

As noted, you don't need to link in order to get larger dining reservation sizes than is in your room reservation. However, you might want to link up as friends/family in my disney experience so that you can coordinate fast passes and other activities.
