Hi. DH, me, DD(6), DS(4) will be headed to WDW September 16th for the 1st time. The kids won't know until we are on the plane. I have been reading these posts for weeks and have gotten lots of tips. My questions are:
How much do ears cost and where do you get them? and What are "love bugs" that people complaiin about? I have never heard of them. Thanks.:confused3

You can get Ears from just about anywhere in the parks that have souvenir shops. But I personally like to go the World of Disney in Downtown Disney. It's free to get in and buses even go there from the different resorts. I'm not sure what the last run is, but that's definitely a place you could spend a whole entire day at that store and/or Downtown Disney itself. We usually even take a day from our vacation to spend a day downtown!!!!:cool1: This place is amazing and once you go to WDW, BELIEVE ME you'll want to go every SINGLE YEAR...even think about moving down there, like me!!!::yes:: ::yes::

Anyways, I could go on and on and on about WDW and I still wouldn't have enough time....but as far those "love bugs", you don't have to worry about them since you're flying. They are called Mayflies and they stick to everything!!! Let's just say if you have a white car, it could come out looking black!!!:scared1: LOL!!!

Anyways, you'll have an awesome time and just let everything bring itself to you. You'll be surprised how fast the days goes by and you're wishing it didn't. BUt make sure that whatever you do, make sure you see the Spectromagic parade, WISHES fireworks at MK and the Illuminations fireworks at EPCOT in WORLD SHOWCASE!! Also, especially for the kids, the Fantasmic show at MGM or now Hollywood Studios!!! These four things should not be missed at all!!!! :woohoo: :wizard:

Hope this helps you out and sorry for the length!!!:yay:

:thumbsup2 Love bugs are black and float aimlessly around. They do not bite. They are always attached in pairs, hint the name "love bugs". They have not been bad this year on the Gulf Coast. But alas I do have a white car and they do decorate it. I am a freak when it comes to flying bugs, especialy roaches and these are absolutely harmless. You can also purchase ears and other hats in the hat shop at the beginning of Main Street on the right as you walk in....maybe about $20, I am not sure, but they put names on them right there while you wait, or you could probably go back and pick them up.:hippie:

i am so excited for you. have a great time and enjoy all you see. we went our first time in 2003 and have been back twice since then. your kids will love it. our kids were older when we went, 13 and 17, but thats okay we are becoming grandparents this year and can't wait to take our grandchild. you will be amazed :hyper: :hyper:

If you really want some fun with the ears, go to The Chapeau in the Magic Kingdom! They just re-opened after a refurbishment, and there is a major "design your own ears" section there now. You can locate it on a map of the MK, but basically when you walk in, go around the right side of what is called the Town Square, and it will be in front of you before you start to head down Main Street.

Have a great trip and good luck keeping it from the kids that long!!!!:scared1: I just couldn't do it... I'm too excited myself!:hyper:
