My DH and I are looking at going on a cruise next May. We would like a 3 day land/4 day sea at a deluxe or moderate resort. We would also like a balcony or whatever that is called on the ship. I know we need to go through a travel agent but I wanted to get an estimated cost.
Any other advice?????????
Thank You very much!

Lots of DIS'rs use Dreams Unlimited for their ressies. I have the cruise brochure here and starting at the lowest for 7-night land and sea with verandah (Deluxe) is $1,349-$2,399 per person for Cat. 6; and $1,749-$2,999 for Cat. 4. These numbers are to be taken very lightly, however, since a lot depends on sail dates and other offers ("early booking" savings). But they are rough estimates according to the 2002/2003 brochure. Cat. 1, 2 & 3 are an entirely different story....($$$) Cat. 7 is a "navigator's verandah" which is probably not what you had in mind. Cat. 4 is actually a family suite which you may not need if it's just the 2 of you. Lots of different options on DCL. Be very specific on what your preferences are (i.e. deck locations, accessibility to elevators, theatres, spa, etc.) You may want to request from DCL a brochure to look at the diagram of the ship or visit their website HERE for more info. Good luck - it'll be worth every cent.

Hi and Welcome!!

For starters, you do not have to book through a travel agent unless you want to. Disney accepts bookings directly through them. If you want an idea of what the vacation will cost go to Disney website @ www.disneycruise.com

Look for the suitcase icon in the upper right corner and click on it. Follow the prompts and you will get a quote on what it will cost. Then call a few different TA to see if they can give a better price. I just posed some prices that Costco is offering if you are a member. Look for the thread "Just received Costco Quote for DCL".

Also try Dreams Unlimted who sponsors this board. They often offer great rates, and rebates on certain sailings. They will also keep checking the rates once you booked to see if you are entitled to any new discounts as they come up.

Keep reading this board for a wealth of info as well as
www.dcltribute.com and www.castawayclub.com

Definitely DO NOT book through Disney. I booked my 12/03 cruise last week through my TA (Josephine at Our Laughing Place... www.ourlaughingplace.com), and then double checked the price on Disney. Disney was over $600 more!!! The exact same dates, exact same cabin! It convinced me even more that an experienced TA is the way to go here. Our Laughing Place can get you a quote very easily... I am tremendously satisified with the $2200 total (over the brochure price) that Josephine saved me!!!

Definitely DO NOT book through Disney.
We booked through Disney last year for this year's upcoming cruise. I have been checking TA and web TAs and have not come up with one that was any cheaper. That is including DU.
There are two of us in a Cat 6 for the 9/14 Western. Total cost is $2847 - no air, no transfers and no insurance. We are also getting a $200 shipboard credit.
If anyone can find this trip for less please let me know.
