I'm going to Disney World for 8 days in September 2014 with my family of 5. It would be so amazing if you guys could give me tips and tell me what to change or keep (and what dish is best at which restaurant :) ) THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!!!

September 13:
4:10 Sci-Fi Dine-In Theatre

September 14:
7:00 Rainforest Cafe

September 15:
5:55 Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano

September 16 (my birthday!):
4:05 Le Cellier Steakhouse

September 17:
4:00 T-Rex

September 18:
6:45 Tutto Italia Ristorante

September 19:
7:40 Chefs de France

*I have the Disney Dining Plan
(September 20 we plan to have a quick service and use the rest of our snack credits before leaving around 2:00)

SciFi has always been a very fun lunch place to me, more than a dinner. Most lunches I just do a shake and some onion rings, and enjoy the atmosphere. A

I'm not a fan of Rainforest Cafe and T-Rex, so I would switch those out. But I know plenty of people love them, so if you think you'd enjoy them, for sure keep them!

Alternates would be Raglan Road at DTD (fun Irish dancing, great menu) and Tusker House at AK. Or, even better, book dinner on your AK day at Boma! All the kids in our extended family have loved it!

I love the Sci-Fi, but I agree with Buzz that it's more of a lunch place for me. But I think dinner would be great too! My advice is stick to the simple stuff like burgers, the Rueben, etc. They are great at those, but the "fancier" dishes tend to not be so well executed. Such a fun atmosphere though, and it's a great place to escape from the heat!

You'll have a great time no matter what you decide!

I wouldn't do BOTH Rainforest Cafe and T-Rex. They are both chain restaurants owned by the same parent company, so they have very similar menus/food quality and atmospheres. Nearly identical inside, except one is dinosaurs and one has birds, etc. Personally, I think there's more unique to Disney restaurants than these two, but I can see the appeal if you don't live in a major city that has a RFC.

The rest of your choices are great IMO! Keep in mind that Le Cellier charges you 2 TS credits per person, so you may have to pay for one of the other meals listed out of pocket, if you didn't already account for it.

Also, have you considered breakfast anywhere? We are big breakfast people and love Crystal Palace, Tusker House, and Chef Mickey's. A pre-park opening ADR at CP gives you the opportunity to take photos inside MK with very few people around, and a pre-park opening ADR at TH allows you to be adjacent to the safari at park opening so you can get right on!

Thank you for the input! We have 8 days booked at a Disney but the last day we have to start driving home at around 2 so we figured we would use the dinner credit on a different day and go to a 2TS restaurant. I think doing breakfast is actually a great idea! I'll see what's open, thank you!

Is there something you would recommend instead of T-Rex or Rainforest Cafe?

The dining plan is based on the number of nights you are staying. Are you staying 7 or 8 nights?

Boma is delicious. Also, make sure your reservations at Hollywood Studios allow for you to get to Fantasmic. Not sure what time Fantasmic is occurring on that day. Mama melrose is yummy.

And don't waste a table service at Sci Fi. Better value if you do 50s prime time.

We love Sci Fi and TRex. Just remember for every opinion you ask for, you are going to get people who like and people who don't. It depends on how you normally eat, are you adventurous eaters etc. Read the reviews and take them in but in the end, based on the menus and the theming, try the restaurants you think will appeal to your family. There are a few restaurants that get low reviews that we loved and had a blast going to. For example, Cape May for dinner.....last year it was getting horrible reviews and people felt very strongly about staying away from it. It was by far the best dinner we had on vacation. So I was glad I didn't listen to the reviews.

Good luck in your decisions.

Got some great choices in there!

I love the milkshakes, flavoured soda's at sci fi!

Le Cellier is another hands down all time fave for us! I obviously recommend the cheddar cheese soup (though on the ddp you'll have to pay oop) and dipping the pretzel bread in it! AH mazing, and for the main dish the mushroom filet! Seriously the best!

You aren't eating anywhere at Magic Kingdom or in the Magic Kingdom resort area. I would try to book something there rather than go to both Sci-Fi & Mama Melrose, or both T-Rex and Rainforest.

Which Rainforest are you planning on? If it's the DTD one then I would switch that to Raglan Road. Great food, Irish dancers, nice atmosphere, but better than Rainforest.

You're also eating at Epcot 3 times. You could think about Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club for either Les Chefs or Tutto, but both of those choices are good. It's a short walk from the International Gateway and I think it's fun to see resorts.

This was very very helpful!! We are going to the Rainforest Cafe in Animal Kingdom. Any suggestions for somewhere to eat in Magic Kingdom?
