People keep getting added to my vacation, so now we have two cars, but I wanted a full size, so ended up going reserve on one, instead of aisle. Does the reserve sometimes have the Rendevous, or just full size cars? I don't understand the difference. Thanks

EC members who reserve an intermediate car can pick any car from the aisle. As you know the aisle frequently has full size cars and occasionally convertibles SUV's and th like.

Reserve only has the car class you reserve. You'll pick the car and color but the full size aisle will only have full size cars and the mini-van aisle will only have mini-vans.

There isn't a big difference between an intermediate and full size car. According to National both classes only seat 5. You might take your chances.

Now I'm even more confused. Another post I just read said the reserve had SUV's amoung other cars. So the reserve usually doesn't have anything except full size? We find the full size usually have a bigger trunk for luggage..no? So it makes more sense to stick with EA, and take a chance on what they might have..especially since we will be there around 10 am?
Anyone know how close to your reservation you can cancel? If you are a EA person, they have your credit card, will they charge if you cancel too close?

I jsut found this..I get the idea from this, there may be cars other than full on the reserve aisle..am I reading it right?

EMERALD RESERVE SERVICE
Any car class excluding Intermediate (excluding fullsize if Executive level member)
PAY: Car class reserved
(if Executive level member, pay one car class less for fullsize through luxury vehicles)
Drive: Any available car from row of car class reserved

EMERALD AISLE SERVICE RESERVE:
Reserve: Intermediate
Pay: Intermediate
DRIVE: Any available car on the Aisle

just as a word of warning - if someone in your party is really tall - there is a big difference. it is very uncomfortable for dh (6'4") to drive an intermediate.

When I made our reservation, I was going to do Emerald Aisle which only allows you Intermediate, the way I understand it. But I noticed the reservation was only a couple dollars more for the Full Size throughEmerald Reserve. We wanted more room that the Full Size would have. It was worth the few extra dollars. I thought for sure, they would tell me I could only choose a Full Size from the aisle, but the attendant said "whatever was there", we could choose from.

Doris--EA intermediate cars and possible upgrades.

ER--a series of aisles for each class of car. You have compact aisle, a full size aisle, a mini-van aisle, a convertible aisle and so on. You go to the aisle for the class of car you reserved and pick a car. In the event the aisle for the class of car you reserved is 100% empty they will allow you to pick from the next class of car. You get what you reserved and paid for.

If you book Emerald Aisle, you are guarenteed, at least an intermediate. You might get lucky, and get something bigger, full size, SUV, Van, but not always.

If youy book Emerald Reserve, you are guarenteed the size you reserve.

Someone posted that the full size aisle, (they had booked reserve) was empty when they arrived, and the attendant, allowed them to choose "whatever", and the were able to take a Buick SUV.

We are taking the chance w/ aisle. Wishin for something bigger, but not a deal breaker. It might be crowded to the resort, and back w/ the luggage though. Maybe that thought will help me w/ my overpacking issues.

When we arrived on 3/2 around 4:00pm, the only car on the full size row was a Chrysler Convertible. Too small for 4 people w/luggage. I asked the attendent if we could take a full size form the Executive Aisle (at least 20 of them there), he said asked if we were Emerald Club, I said yes, he said we could take an Aztec from the Emerald Aisle.
