But i have no clue which beach is closer to WDW.We are wanting to drive down a day early an stay at the beach but i want to be as close to Disney as possible. So can someone please help me out and tell me which would be our best choice and also where would you recommend to stay? Thanks in advance.

I would say Cocoa Beach is pretty close.

You could also go over to the Gulf side near Clearwater Beach.

Not at all!!

Orlando is pretty much in the middle. Pick which you'd like, ocean or gulf. I've been to both. Both are nice. St Pete's beach (Tampa area) is really pretty! The gulf is generally calmer than the ocean. Both are abt 1 - 1.5 hours from Orlando.

Daytona Beach isn't that far either. Just about 1 1/2 - 2 hours north.

Cocoa Beach is closer - 45 minutes to an hour.
St Pete Beach/ CLW Beach/ Fort Desoto Beach - are 1 hr to 1 1/2 away. The gulf beaches are way prettier than Cocoa - but I am totally biased. I live in St Pete! Fort Desoto is beautiful but it isn't a touristy beach.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions.Do you think that we should stay at Daytona beach since we will be coming in from NC on I95 anyway? How far is the beach from the Daytona beach exit?Any suggestions on where to stay?
Thanks,
Misty
