But when we arrive our first night at Disney---all we are planning is a 7pm seating at Whispering Canyon Cafe. Can we see the Electrical Water Parade from any of the resorts? ( I know, this is prob. a newbie type question) If so, wheres a good place to see it? Or would it be better to stay close to WL and do the Hay rides??

You can view the EWP at the WL's beach. It passes somewhere between 9 and 9:30 (can't remember exact time)

If you dont mind another silly question, is the WL beach hard to find?? Which way do I go and is it by the hay rides? (can do 2 things then!!) :rolleyes1

What about seeing the EWP at the Contemporary or at Poly? A little bit off topic...because I'm asking if you can see it from those locations or not. Were also trying to plan dinner someplace and hope we'll be able to find a location that we can see the EWP and maybe even the fireworks from MK....any ideas...and what would the best time be to make reservations (We arrive at MCO around 4:30, staying at POP) we were thinking of making ADR around 8:00pm.

Whispering Canyon is in the Wilderness Lodge lobby. If you go outside the lobby, you hit the pool. The beach is just past the pool area.

The hay ride is at Fort Wilderness, which is about a mile down the road. You can't take a hay ride from Wilderness Lodge.

When you get to WL, just ask guest services what time the EWP starts. It usually depends on what time Wishes runs.

Ok, my mind has been overloaded so I got the two confused.

Im sure they would rather see the parade (i may be wrong here too) and that would just make it easier on us!!!

If the you are stood near the pool, go to the right side, past the bar area to get to the beach at WL. You can also see it from the boat dock, which is over to the left of the pool down a little path. From the boat dock you can take a boat to MK or a resort boat to Fort Wilderness (and find that hayride)or Contemporary Resort.

O'hana at the Poly is a great take. We made reservations for 8:30p...stopped and got a drink at the lounge by the pool and made out our way over to the beach. We saw the Wishes fireworks, then as we were having dinner the Water Pagent went by...O'hana has these huge windows that look right down on the lagoon. It was a great view. They also do things for the kiddos to keep them entertained during dinner. The food was really good as well.

How is the food at Ohana's...I was actually thinking of there....but wasn't sure if we'd like the food served. DH is VERY picky....a no vegi kind of guy. I saw pics of the place and dishes...and thought it looked good...but then again I'm not a big Pork person...and I DON'T do sea food....so I'm just not sure if it's the place for us. Any ideas on how the Concourse Steakhouse is?...and is there some place there to see the fireworks and water parade?

We had great BBQ'ed turkey and steak at Ohana, plus a lot of the appetizers are really good.. chicken wings, fried rice, wontons etc.

The food was really good at O'hana...And you can see everything right from the dining room! Trust me, O'hana is a Atkins Dream!

Shrimp and Vegetable Wontons...OMG these were SOOOO GOOD
Honey and Coriander Chicken Wings...OMG to better than the ones at the Chinese restaurants!
Salad with Honey Lime Dressing REALLY REALLY GOOD!
Stir Fied Vegetables..Ours were green beans and bacon bits...They were really good
Stir Fried Rice...yummy!
Marinated Sirloin Steak..I don't eat beef, but everyone else said they were very tender and delicious
Mesquite Seasoned Turkey Breast...these were really good too!
Bar-B-Qued Pork Loin and Grilled Tiger Shrimp - The best!
Plus they have an awesome coconut bread and pinapple with caramel (Sounds like an odd combo, but VERY tasty)

All you can eat - $24.99 *

We always hit Ohana and Boma on our trips. The men in our family are REALLY big eaters and the buffet and family style work out great for us.

You cna also see the EWP from the dock at Ft Wilderness, so if you wanted to still do both you could.

Here is the EWP route.

It goes by The Grand Floridian first then passes the Polynesian. It passes the TTC on it's way over to the Contemporary and then on to Wilderness lodge.

It can be seen anywhere along this route from any resort beach or dock.

You can see it from 'Ohana if you get a window seat. I know that Wishes music is piped in but I'm not sure if the EWP music is. You may have to be outside to hear the music.

So you can see it from the Contemporary? I never thought about the EWP. It runs every night around 9-9:30 p.m.? We have ressies at CR at 7:30 p.m. on our arrival day. It would be nice to be able to see this after dinner. :flower:

Yes you can see it from the Contemporary. We had dinner at California Grill, and we could see it from up there as it came from WL area to Poly (I think that was the direction it was heading) I would imagine you could see it from the boat dock at the back as it comes down through that narrow water bridge by the CR.

I recommend going to see the Electrical Water Pagent. In my opinion, the Polynesian Beach should be the best place to see it. I am sure any of the locatations will be good to view it from and plus it you time it right you can see the MK fireworks from there as well. As for the hay ride, thats at Fort Wilderness and sounds like fun as well.

I got this from the Allears site. Hope it helps.

Although the pageant generally follows the schedule below, check with the Guest Services Desk at your Magic Kingdom Resort for times during your stay. Inclement weather can cause cancellation of the pageant.

Polynesian Resort -- 9 p.m.
Grand Floridian -- 9:15 p.m.
Wilderness Lodge -- 9:35 p.m.
Fort Wilderness -- 9:45 p.m.
Contemporary Resort -- 10:05 p.m.
Magic Kingdom -- 10:20 p.m. (only during extended MK park
hours)

Note that when the Magic Kingdom Fireworks are scheduled for 9 p.m., the Electrical Water Pageant runs about 7-20 minutes later.
