I am going to Orlando with my husband and two daughters (6 and 10) on August 18-28 for the first time. Please read the plans we have made so far and let me know if they make sense or could be improved. All input welcome!
We do not like roller coasters so not planning to do any of the mountains or anything too ''thrilling'. Also not planning to do flight of passage because of my youngest
We are staying at Marriott Harbour Lake and plan to use Uber as our main transport.
Monday 19 August: day at hollywood studios including early morning magic. Dinner at Homecomin' (4.30pm)
Tuesday 20 August: day at Magic Kingdom including early morning magic. Planning to do all 7 EMM rides before 9am, then move on to Buzz Light-year and people mover before breakfast at 9.45.
Hoping to get fast passes for Belle, haunted manor and pirates later in the day
Wednesday 21 August: breakfast booked at Akershus for 8.20. Planing to do Frozen on the dot of 9 and get fast pass for Soarin'. Not keen on test track
Dinner booked at Le Celier for 4.30
Thursday 22 and Friday 23 August: going to universal and staying at royal Pacific
Saturday 24: chilling by the pool and maybe some shopping. No parks
Sunday 25: Animal Kingdom. Hoping to get fast pass for Navi and Kilimanjaro. Will rope drop if not. Not doing flight of passage.
Monday 26: morning and early afternoon chilling by the pool. Arrive to MK for 4.30 ADR at Be our Guest, do a few rides and enjoy fireworks.
Tuesday 27 : undecided. Maybe water park?
Wednesday 28: undecided. We have to head to the airport at around 4pm
Have I picked the wrong dates for any of the parks? Is there anything I'm missing? Can you thinks of any tweaks that would make the plan more efficient??

I have never done Akershus breakfast, but if your reservations are at 8:20 and you want to do Frozen right at 9:00 you aren't leaving yourself much time. A quick google search said 75-90 mins. for breakfast there if you want to have time to interact with the princesses.

If your not doing any of the thrill rides you have a nice plan but calitook is correct it will take you at least an hour to eat as Akershus and see the princesses. But the stand by line for FEA should not be to bad at that point.

Good point. We were planning to get there for 8 and hope they would seat us early.

You still won't get out of there before the line is 60+ minutes unless you're willing to leave halfway through. Always plan on 90 minutes for a character meal. I would cancel the ADR

FEA has had 20-30 min waits at 9:30 (9 open) recently. If you can get seated early and that wait if acceptable for you it might be ok. If you keep the reservation just decide if it's more important to meet all the princesses or ride the ride with a shorter wait.

Thank you all. It looks like I might be better off cancelling the ADR

I would consider rope dropping either Soarin or FEA and FP the other. If you want the breakfast schedule it later.

They're an ideal age. Old enough to understand waiting in line /strong enough to withstand the walking.

I don't know this hotel, but GoogleMaps tells me it's 12 miles from The Magic Kingdom ... that's a long, long way in Disney traffic. I personally would pick a closer place ... onsite, if possible. Your family will fit in a standard hotel room, and you get to do so much more if you cut out transit time.

As for Uber, you know that you should tell your driver to take you to the Contemporary Resort, then walk over to the Magic Kingdom, right? This allows you to bypass the "ride in" on either the Monorail or the FriendShip, and it'll get you to the parks earlier.

Good plans, but this is a BIG MORNING, especially for little people ... plan a solid, sit-down breakfast at 9:45 for a good rest with air conditioning and plenty of drinks ... this is not a time for a quick fast-food meal. And, obviously, give them a small breakfast before all this action ... just a granola bar and a juice box will do, given that they're going to have a big breakfast later. Something more restful right after breakfast would be a good idea. Don't underestimate kids' needs for breaks.
Wednesday 21 August: breakfast booked at Akershus for 8.20.
Agree with what others have said about breakfast. Hoping to get in early is not a good plan. Expect a character breakfast to take 90 minutes ... scheduled as a planned break, character meals are a great idea.

Okay, you've lost me here ...changing hotels takes time /energy ... why would you move to a Universal-based hotel, then drive back to Disney to go to the Animal Kingdom? Overall, I don't think you've made the best /most efficient housing choices.
Monday 26: morning and early afternoon chilling by the pool.
One day of chilling by the pool ... good. Two days ... overkill. Two days by the pool PLUS a water park later ... why? I'd add another park day (maybe another Universal day since all their tickets seem to be 3-days now), but bowling at Disney Springs could also work. This would also be a good time for a character breakfast at a resort (no park ticket needed).
Wednesday 28: undecided. We have to head to the airport at around 4pm
This last morning would be a good time for a water park or chilling by the pool.
