We are cruising for the first time in our lives on the Wonder 4-night trip on April 7, which stops in Nassau and Freeport. Can anyone compare the Nassau Dolphin Encounter with the Freeport one? Which is better in your opinion? If you like the Nassau ones better, which excursion do you suggest for adult first-timers -- the encounter only or the day-long trip? We're trying to determine which excursions to take, and getting kind of overwhelmed by it all.

Thanks in advance for your help! :)

Hello,
It looks as though we will be on the same cruise and share the same dilemma about the Dolphin Encounters. Have you made a decision? We are leaning toward the offering in Freeport and I suppose we must attempt reservations as soon as possible. We have cruised the Magic twice before and this will be our first Wonder voyage. In Nassua we prefer to take private transportation to Paradise Island or stay on board the ship - we had unfavorable and expensive dealings with the hairbraiders on the island.
This trip consists of my 17 year old daughter and myself. We will spend 4 nights at the World before the cruise. How about you?

Happy Sailing,

We did the one in Freeport and it was a terrible waste of money. I have read many times on these boards that the one in Nassau is great. Our excursion consisted of bus and boat rides for about 2 hours and a full 2 minutes in the water with the dolphins. Not much of an experience for the price.

I was researching the Nassau Dolphin Encounter. (Going on 4 day Wonder in Oct.)

And I was wondering what anyone thought about the difference between the Swim and the Close Encounter.

I realize that I would have to book the Swim myself and that it cost more... but is the difference between them worth the money?

Thanks!!

For anyone else who is curious here is the company's website that does the Nassau Dolphin excursion.

Can't wait to go in October!
