I have not heard of this this before, but found it while "researching" a convienent place to eat before Spectro in Feb. I found the menu on all ears--looks like sandwiches and burgers--at sit down prices. Is this a Table Service restaurant? Anyone eat there and care to give opinions? I really have never heard it mentioned before (which leads me to believe it is Counter service?)

We love The Plaza Restaurant. The Plaza is a table service restaurant. There might also be a counter service window for ice cream, however, The Plaza is definitely table service.

It is a casual restaurant. It is like a fancy deli with sandwiches and simple platters. A very festive and family atmosphere. We are planning on dinner at The Plaza before Spectromagic and Wishes for our upcoming trip.

We ate at The Plaza for lunch during our 1st trip to Disney World last year and had a very happy thing happen A CM dressed in a very fancy old time southern gown came in singing and announced to the restaurant that our family was the 100th family to come for lunch that day and we were awarded a certificate, a free dessert and family photograph.

We eat here for lunch every time we're at MK. Yes it is table service and the above post describes it perfectly. We usually split a sandwich - they are pretty big and we don't like to eat a big meal at the parks anyway.

After planning 5 trips (3 for me, 2 for others) I am not sure how I have missed this! But since we usually do CS I must just not have noticed it.

It sounds really good, but since we will be pressed for time to get spots for Spectro we may have stick with CS.

Now I need to find out if the Plaza Pavillion is still there. See my other thread.

We ate at The Plaza last July. It was very nice and enjoyable. I ordered chicken sandwich and was pretty good.

We did not try the desserts, but we may this trip.

I think it has the best food in MK, besides the castle. The sandwiches are very good.

We ate here the week of Thanksgiving and what an escape from the crowds it was. Quite peaceful and sweet. Definently make ADR's, they were turning people away. ::yes:: The sandwiches and ice cream desserts were great!!

We didn't find it until our 3rd trip to WDW! The milk shakes and malts are really good too. We had a lunch ressie there on a day it was threatening rain. We packed as much as we could into the morning, skipped the show at the castle to do one more outdoor ride then headed to the Plaza. Just as we were seated (at a window overlooking the castle :teeth: ) it began to pour. People came running and the restaurant filled right up. We felt very lucky to have gotten in when we did. It was a good lunch, we plan to eat there again next month.

We also love the Plaza Restaurant. I "had" a favorite sandwich on the lunch menu at Liberty Tree that no longer is offered. I was devestated when it was removed fromthe menu...only to stumble upon the Plaza Restaurant and low and behold my sandwich was there (it is the chicken sandwich with cheese and ham...LOVE IT). Only problem now is that I also have fallen in love with the Strawberry (or pear depending on season) Chicken and Gorgonzola salad that they serve... Definetly a thumbs up from my family on the Plaza...

I see you also got your answer about the Plaza Pavillion being the Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station now. It is only open seasonally, but the area is still a great place to watch fireworks from :)

We love the Plaza it is a quaint little place on Main Street. It is on the dining plan but it takes a table credit even though it is all sandwiches. It also seems to be the last MK restaurant to fill up with ADRs so if you are going on a busy time, it is a good place to try if everything else is sold out.

We first discovered the Plaza restaurant for lunch on Thanksgiving 04. I had always read good review from the DIS but never checked it out. We ended up eating there twice. The hamburgers are fabulous, rootbeer is great and the milkshakes are YUMMY! My daughter says the grilled cheese is the best in WDW.

It quickly became a family favorite and when we went in July 05 we ate there twice during our two week stay.
