Plaza Inn or Storyteller's for breakfast?

Hello! We are visiting Jan 20-22 for my son's 21st birthday and he has requested a character breakfast! :)

I currently have reservations at both Plaza and Storyteller's (though one may end up fitting our schedule better)... we did Storyteller's in 2021 and I remember it being decent (last time we did Goofy's, like 2019? I found it disappointing). We have not done Plaza. We don't care so much about character interactions... a little for the nostalgia I guess. Which one has better food? Or equally mediocre? :). Thanks!!
Kim

Storytellers food was good quality. And I’d choose it over plaza inn any day.

The atmosphere at plaza isn’t as relaxed as storytellers. The food was cafeteria level when we were there.

For a 21 yo I’d say storytellers, it’s much more adult. And he can get a cocktail. 😅

ETA: we are going to storytellers next trip specifically for the chilaquiles. 🤤

For younger kids (10 and under), I might suggest Plaza Inn, or at least put it on a more even choice, it's nice to see the characters while in the park, and the younger kid probably wouldn't care about the food as much.

For a 21 year old, I agree with above posters that Storyteller's is probably a better fit.

I feel like I'll be one of the only who say Plaza Inn. We've done Storytellers twice for breakfast and never again. The last time was horrible. Even a non-picky 10 year old was disappointed. There was hardly anything to choose from and the food that was there was dry, the bacon was almost black it was so done. Plus no cereal milk anymore.

Plaza inn is great...good food and lots of characters...that said Storytellers might be a better choice for an adult, not so many characters and a more adult vibe. I love the food at Storytellers too. Have a great time wherever you land!

You can't really go wrong with either. I'd choose Plaza Inn because I love the atmoshpere, but Storytellers is supposed to be great. Have a fun trip!

Plaza Inn because they have so many more characters.

They have more at plaza inn, but we found they were lower quality interactions. Chip played peekaboo with my toddler for at least 10 minutes at storytellers and then stopped again as he passed back to the other side of the restaurant. But it’s probably a moot point since they said they aren’t too concerned about characters.

Plaza Inn typically has Pooh and tigger and Lucy the mouse from Cinderella and a few others. We didn’t find the quality of interactions less than storytellers or goofys. I think it likely varies on who’s in the costume. Our kids have had great interactions at both places with pictures and autographs.

See, we've always felt the opposite. We've done both breakfasts 4 times and always felt the number of characters and the interactions at Plaza Inn were far superior.

Suzy. There's no Lucy.

My Bad, got the names mixed up but you knew who I meant....

Having done Goofys, Storytellers and Plaza multiple times (we just did Goofys and Storytellers last week), I can't say there was one that stood out above the others. They all took their time with our kids for photos and autographs. Never felt rushed. Same for Princess Breakfast, I was impressed with the amount of engagement and time our kids got from the princesses.

Alright as the 34 year old who went with her 34 year old best friend...we loved Plaza Inn. I've not done Storytellers but Plaza Inn was so much fun and the food was really good. I loved that we were in Disneyland and we went straight from riding rides right back to riding rides. It wasn't very crowded when we went and we met Minnie, Pooh, Tigger, Max, Pluto, Chip and Dale, and Perla. I think Eeyore came around as we were leaving. The characters spent a good bit of time with us and Max sat down at our table too. We had a ton of fun and I'm planning on booking it in June with my husband and 18 year old stepdaughter who wanted to do a character dining. I definitely want to do Storytellers eventually, but I feel like it could be hard to beat Plaza Inn!

We've only done Plaza and Goofy's once in the past five years. Done Storytellers about four times during that same period. My favorite food was at Plaza. I just find that the food at Storytellers to be underwhelming. That being said, I like the atmosphere of Storytellers the best.

Thanks everyone! Sounds like they are both good choices, went ahead and kept Storytellers since I think the time works better with our schedule! :)

We were in and out of Plaza in within 45 minutes a few days ago. Saw 9 characters with no waits and little fuss. What a great experience! We saw Minnie, Chip, Dale, Suzy, Perla, Daisy, Pluto, Tigger and Pooh. Best character meal in all of Disney.

Good point about leaving the park. We only do storytellers on a non-park day.

We have done both in the last year. Both had good food but I'd give the edge (for food) to Storyteller's by a point or two. Plaza wasn't bad IMO...

Storyteller's had a more packed and stressful vibe due to the construction when we were there and the fact that they were about an hour behind. Lot's of mad adults for sure. The character interactions were good and the kids/us had a fun time.

Perhaps I was lucky but Plaza hit it out of the park with the characters. It was nice to see Minnie in her classic outfit. My wife said that this may be the only place to see her in that? Characters visited a lot and interacted with my kids a bunch.

Both are great.
