Plaza Inn Character Breakfast

Sherry...Im hopping on your GK bandwagon. We've eaten here both trips we've taken and fully intend on going again during our upcoming stay. The food was amazing and we loved the interaction.

When I ask my 2 dd what they are most excited about, they say "GOING TO GOOFYS KITCHEN". Go figure.

I have to admit, that I too am pretty excited to do it again. Im going with a girlfriend that hasnt experienced a character meal before, so this will be extra exciting.

Is the breakfast at GK just as good as the dinner?

ETA: With reguards to the chairs, they are uncomfortable. And when I looked closely at the table, it was really really dirty. I dont mean like it needed to be wiped down, I mean it appeared as though they all needed to be taken outside for a good pressure washing. Lots of nasty build up.

Do you mean the table was dirty at Minnie and Friends or at Goofy's? It seems like I recall hearing something about the tables at Minnie and Friends being a little grimy in the past but then I assumed I imagined it. I hadn't noticed any icky stuff at Goofy's but I will look more closely next time to see if they have grimy tables!

Oh good! We have another one on the Goofy's bandwagon!!:cool1: :dance3: That makes you, me, DizNee Luver, Vala, J.C.andAli'sMom, got2travel, Kaoden39 and....hmmm, I know there are more Goofy's fans out there who I have forgotten. We are silently building in numbers!!:lmao:

I actually much prefer the GK breakfast choices over the dinner ones, but that is just a matter of personal taste, I think. Certainly, there is a tremendous variety of dishes to choose from at either breakfast or dinner, but I wasn't hungry enough when I ate there for dinner so I felt like I had wasted money. It wasn't the fault of GK - It was just my lack of an appetite. I always need a lot of protein in the morning, so the breakfast buffet works better for me. I will have to return to the GK dinner buffet one of these days - on an empty stomach! I have actually read some posts on here by people that also prefer the breakfast/brunch buffet over dinner, and then there are many others who like the dinner better. It seems to be 50/50. Not to mention that there may be more or different characters at dinner than at breakfast, too. Either way, since you have already been there a couple of times and had a good experience, I am sure you will be happy with the breakfast. Great quality, great variety, great quantitiy. Great FRUIT, Mickey-shaped cobbler, banana crepes, creme brulee French toast, etc. Great juice and coffee! Excellent bacon and potatoes.

I have had good luck with bringing friends who I thought would be a little scared of a character meal. They ended up loving it and loving the food, so I hope you have good luck in bringing your friend and initiating her into the character dining club!

Oh no no no....the tables at GK were fine. It was the tables at the Plaza that were gross.

Well dag-nabbit....now I want to go for breakfast AND dinner. There's no such thing as GK overload is there?

We love Breakfast with Minnie. We have taken grandkids on two seperate occasions and saw a lot of characters. In fact it was hard to eat at times because the characters kept coming by. Also the food is good.
We also do Goofys kitchen and Lilo/Stitch without any complaints.
We are going again in about 49 days and I am hoping we have another great trip with great character meals. We will be taking two more of our granddaughters for their fourth birthdays and we are (0fcourse) wanting everything extra magical for them.

I think I am going to have to try Minnie and Friends just once to see for myself. I do like to be able to get bites of food for a few minutes before being attacked by characters, But I really like the selection of characters there at Minnie's. So I think if I don't go in with any super-high expectations of character interaction, food quality or structure and order in the restaurant - and keep everyone's info and tips in mind - then I should be satisfied enough. It is worth trying one time. But I also want to do Lilo and Stitch one time too, just to see Beach Minnie and Surfer Goofy.

Probably there is overload!! Every trip, I keep telling myself, "Well, since we like Goofy's so much, maybe we should eat there more than one time on this trip," but then I always re-think the idea and we only go there once. My friend loves it there too, but I am always afraid that two meals wouldl be overkill and we will end up hating Goofy and those darn perky chipmunks if we try two meals there within a 3-day span. Still, I think my friend would probably enjoy trying the dinner buffet at some point, so we may eventually do a Goofy's breakfast and Goofy's dinner on the same trip. Sooner or later. I know Vala has done Goofy's multiple times in one trip and got away with still loving it there, so I probably could too!

Things didn't start good right away when they couldn't find a character for the photopass station where they try to sell you pictures and tried to sell me the shot they do of you holding Tink in your hand. A little expensive for a shot that I had done at about a dozen other locations. Anyway...

When we went we had a late seating too (10.15) and some characters left to do the castle show.

I think that the later seatings for all of the breakfasts can have problems with missing characters. Later seating at Chip and Dales results in no Chip or Dale. Zoiks!

It's too bad the Dining CMs don't know these things, but they aren't in the parks or restaurants, and for some reason they just don't know.

Adorable picture of your family and Minnie, but those chairs looks awfully uncomfortable. Are they better than they look?

Okay, this is coming from a Pooh sized person - but per my understanding they are definitely not better than they look. Really uncomfortable.

We had a fun time there! We saw Hook, Chip, Dale, Minnie, Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, & the Fairy Godmother. I would definitely recommend getting there early - we made the earliest PS we could, and it was great! We got right in there and got our food, and then all the characters came out! They made the rounds pretty well, it seemed, and the food was fresh and yummy. We got enough to eat and left happy. I like the location because you're already in the park when you're done. Also we didn't have issues with the chairs or tables at all. The interior was lovely! Diff'rent strokes, I guess! :)

Here's a pic (hopefully it works!) :

I'm interested in the other character breakfasts, but we are most likely to go to Minnie's again. Mostly because of the location, character selection, and price. I would love to try Goofy's someday, but the price is a little steep for me. :( But maybe someday!

When we take our grandkids or even go by ourselves we do the character meals. It is great to see the characters and the food is good. It is a chance to relax a little and get rested for the rest of the day. It is the easiest way to see characters if you are only there for a few days.

Wow! I can't believe all the bad reviews. We loved this character breakfast. In fact we did Goofy's Kitchen for dinner and it was not very good at all.

For the Plaze Inn breakfast we saw Chip and Dale, Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger, Captain Hook, Max, Brer Fox, and of course, Minnie. We saw every character for a long time. Some came more than once and Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore and Tigger were playing games with my kids. Captain Hook played lots of tricks on my kids and came back later with candy for them to make peace. It really was a great time. I thought the food was fine. It was a breakfast buffet. It wasn't a 5 star meal, but it was everything you could expect in a breakfast buffet.

Obviously it's not a given as to which meal you will enjoy most. If you go in with a positive attitude you will probably enjoy yourself much more. If you are already pretty sure it's a waste of time, then don't do it, you won't feel satisfied with the amount of money you paid.

I've done the Lilo and Stich and Minnie and Friends. We really liked both.
We had a 9:40 seating for 6, we had lots.. of interaction. My kids loved the food, I have never seen them eat so much. My oldest is very picky about his scrambled eggs loved them. My Dad thought the sausage was delicious, the best he ever had.. my mom disagreed though. There was plenty of food for a vegan eater.. I had the hashbrowns, there is tons of yummy fruit and I had a small pastry and juice. The hashbrowns were great, the pastry I admit was dry. They also have mickey waffles and french toast, and you can have a chef make you an omlet. I think there is enough variety for a group of people. It is more expensive though as you pay the buffet price for everyone, but if you eat enough it is closer in price to the Lilo and Stich breakfast.

We loved getting into the park before everyone on a rainy day!

What mixed reviews. I made PS here for our upcoming trip. It is just my DH and I but I am hoping that my fav, Winnie the Pooh, is there.

we had a great time at minnie's last december! DD2 just loves minnie! and she loved interacting the other characters, too! we saw eyeore, pooh, fairy godmother, captain hook (dd wasn't too fond of him...LOL!), tigger, max, rafiki. we saw a few others, but they didn't come to our table (like piglet).

the food was good (not great), but we were there more for our DDs' interactions with the characters. i'd recommend it...and we'd definitely do it again! :)
