Hello everyone!
I was wondering what characters appear at Minnie's character breakfast at the Plaza Inn? Also, are there any character breakfasts where Mickey appears? Thanks!! :)

There are no character meals where Mickey appears. The only offering for a Mickey appearance is the birthday celebration with Pat E Cake-- some one will have to give you more info on that one.

We were at Minnie's 2 weeks ago and loved it! We saw Chip, Dale, Eyore, Tigger, Captain Hook, Fairy Godmother and Minnie! WE HAD A GREAT TIME! We had a later seating, 10:30, on a Tuesday and got tons of interaction. Chip, Dale and Minnie just kept coming around. We got many fun pictures.

We also did the birthday party and would not recommend, Mickey and Minnie appear briefly at the end and there is an opportunity to take a quick pic but it was very, very rushed. Not worth the $$$ IMO.
Ask specific questions, I'll answer the best I can.

From our last trip, we saw:
Chip & Dale
Fairy Godmother
Capt. Hook & Smee
Winne the Pooh & Tigger Too
Alice & the Mad Hatter
Rafiki

There may have been more, but I don't remember for sure. I have pictures with the above.

Sounds like others had a better experience than us and I'm glad!
When we went last year, we saw Chip, Pooh, Tigger, and Eeyore, and we saw Brer Bear and Brer Fox on the way out. Truth be told, we were a bit disappointed. The characters didn't take any time to interact - it was 'sign the book, take the pic, and poof! gone!' In fact, we stayed extra time, hoping more characters would visit our table - we only got to see Tigger when I waved over a castmember to mention we had seen only a couple of characters, and she made sure Tigger stopped by our table.
We thought the food was kind of disappointing too. It wasn't disgusting or anything, but it wasn't anywhere near as good as it is at Storytellers Cafe or Goofys Kitchen. We aren't picky people, so I think we must have hit Plaza Inn on an off day or something.

As for Mickey at meals, the only meal I know of that he shows up for is Sunday lunch at Club 33, but unfortunately, you can only go there if a member gets you in. We were lucky enough to have that happen last fall, and we went there for a very special, once in a lifetime lunch for my daughter's birthday. Mickey was there in tails, and he and Pluto helped us order - they wouldn't allow us to order duck, and Pluto was campaigning heavily for the chateaubriand. It is a really special memory for us!

You're not the only one who had negative experiences though. Friends had warned me not to go before I went, but I didn't listen and went anyway. Our negative experience was not nearly as bad as theirs, but it was by far the worst character meal we had so far.

Things didn't start good right away when they couldn't find a character for the photopass station where they try to sell you pictures and tried to sell me the shot they do of you holding Tink in your hand. A little expensive for a shot that I had done at about a dozen other locations. Anyway...

When we went we had a late seating too (10.15) and some characters left to do the castle show. The CMs promised they'd be back. They indeed came back for like 10 minutes, but never came to our table.

In fact this was the only meal we got skipped by characters. I pointed this out repeatedly to CMs. But the character handlers seemed more interested in their obviously private chats than doing something. :confused3
This was what angered me more than being missed: the fact that I was pretty much ignored when I informed the CMs of an existing problem.

The food was so-so. It wasn't bad or something, but Storytellers, Goofy and also Ariel's was way better.

We saw Chip (Dale never showed), Tigger, Minnie, Pooh (who skipped us) and Hook.

How was the food at Minnie's breakfast?

I;'m also wondering about how the food is. I checked the menu online and it didn't appear to have much to offer. We're thinking of doing 1 character meal on our trip in a a couple weeks and this is one that we haven't done yet (along with the Lilo & Stich one in PPH).

So maybe my question is if you had to pick between Minnie's Breakfast and Lilo & Stitch, which do you prefer?

We had a great time at this breakfast. Chip n Dale spent a long time at our table tickling and chattering with my then 2 year old. Pooh, Eeyore, Captain Hook, Fairy Godmother, and Minnie all stopped for autographs and pics. Tigger was the most popular so it was hard to get him to stop at individual tables without other guests rushing him. The food was just ok. In my opinion, this is a good breakfast for people traveling with young children.

I am very conflicted about whether or not to do Minnie and Friends in the future. I have heard mixed reviews on the food. I like a good balance of great food and a few good characters. If there are tons of characters but the food is lousy, I won't be happy. If so many characters are coming to the table that I can't get a bite of food, I won't be happy. If the food is outstanding but NO characters come to the table at all, I won't be happy. I like a happy medium. I tend to trust your opinions, Vala, because I know you also love Goofy's like I do and have had good experiences there!!! It always sounds like Minnie and Friends has waaaaaay more characters than Goofy's, but I have heard stories of how that tends to cause more chaos there, with more kids running around in everyone's path, to and fro, with no real structure, and then only a few characters may end up getting to your table anyway. I don't find Goofy's to be chaotic and disorganized at all. Goofy's - in my many experiences there - has a good, solid 5 regular characters and then has a couple of rotating guest stars, most of whom come to the table. Sometimes a couple of them don't make it by the table, but usually they all do. And the food at GK is really good, so I can deal with fewer characters if they come by the table repeatedly (which they usually will do on a slow day). I am so tempted by the characters at Minnie and Friends, but am reluctant to spend that money on food that some have said was not good and at best is only okay. I think I will have to give in and try it once to make up my own mind, but I am apprehensive.:confused3

The characters Ive seen at the breakfast, are Minnie, Fairy Godmother, Tigger, Eeyore, Captain Hook, Chip and Dale. There is no breakfast with the mouse himself...sorta sad.

We always set up our reservation for 8:15 or 8:30 on a MM. The food is served cafeteria style so you can choose what you want. I did not find not anything wrong, as this is what I expected, as this isn’t a full service restaurant. You can have an omelet made. We saw Minnie, Chip, Dale, Eyore, Tigger, Captain Hook and Fairy Godmother. All of the characters stopped and signed DS book and took a picture. We will be doing this again this year.

we went 2 years ago and to tell you there truth, the food was so so, it was kind of chaotic with characters coming and going, trying to eat was exhausting because of grabbing the camera, looking around when one of the kids says "look mom....", taking pictures and getting pictures taken of me.

Excuse the pun please but it was kind of *wham bam thank you mam*.

BUT, the kids had a great time.

We are trying Goofy's Kitchen this time.

Personally, I like the food they have. It's what I would call a 'Typical Vacation all you can eat Breakfast Buffet'. Not anything particularly special, but it's not meant to be 5 star cuisine on gold plated dinnerware. It's typical americana food which is meant to appeal to the masses. The best thing they have is the eggs to order. You can get ommlets, scrambled with goodies or however you like. Bacon, sausage, waffles, muffins, cereal.....standard stuff.

I'm absolutely with you here, Sherry. I am always for giving second chances, but I am really torn about Minnies.

We went November 1, which was probably the reason for us seeing less characters compared to others because it was off season.
I also kind of wondered why it was only a total of 6 characters at Minnies, but if all had been at our table it would have been fine.

Dale not coming to our table was pretty much the worst thing that could happen. My room mate isn't exactly big on characters. The only characters she loves are Grumpy, Chip and Dale. She really avoids meeting the princesses for some reason.

She agreed to do Minnies because she wants to have food regularly and she likes good food (I often forget to eat in my excitement), and we both saw the reports online that Chip & Dale were often at Minnies.

So of course she was extremely disappointed. Not so much at Dale not showing, but at the "do not care" attitude the CMs showed. She saw me trying to report we had a problem and being shrugged off. )I'm a lot more verbal than her.) At all other meals we did there was a character handler (or the park ranger at Storytellers) coming to our table and asked if everything was okay and if there was someone who had to visit our table yet. Nothing at all at Minnies. I think "no structure" like you called it pretty much describes it.

My room mate will forgive me for using her as a continued reference, but she's not into Disney much and hence is what I'd call most objective here. ;)

She isn't what I'd call a picky eater, but she likes good food. At Minnie's she barely ate anything. There was nothing funny or original at Minnie's as Goofy's "Worms and dirt" or the heavenly French Toast Creme Brulee thing they offer. Minnie has basic cafeteria style food. The muffins for example looked like the CMs just opened big prepacked boxes from Walmart or wherever.
The food was what I expected after reading the reports, but nothing that would make me go back.

Room Mate and I were discussing what character meals to do this year - I will go back, have booked already, and she probably will join me for at least some days. When talking about booking either PP or DLH she actually said: "We better take the DLH, that's more close to Goofy's." :rotfl:

When talking about the other meals and I mentioned Minnies, her answer was: "You know, I think I'd rather go to Ariel's Grotto again." Coming from what I'd call a princess hater I guess that shows what she thinks about Minnies. ;)

We really enjoyed it! The food was good, lots of it, fresh fresh beautiful fruit, traditional stuff, eggs, biscuits and gravy, ham....special order omlets, hashbrowns, waffles, french toast, cereals, lots of yummy breads, muffins, etc....I know Im forgetting lots of stuff.....

I would say for food ratings Goofy's kitchen was #1 on our list and Minnie's is #2 both were great breakfasts for ouor family!

I could say that for chacter interaction 1 was Minnie & Friends and Goofy's Kitchen was 2.....

We loved it....no complaints, lots of interaction etc!!!

It's nothing amazing, I would recommend breakfast at Storyteller's Cafe in the Grand Californian Hotel. The food is delicious and the interaction is much better. I've only been once to Storyteller's and that time Kenai, Koda, and Terk were there. They have a cha cha line and anyone can join in, it's fun!

Adorable picture of your family and Minnie, but those chairs looks awfully uncomfortable. Are they better than they look?

Ton of characters, food was as others said, typical breakfast food, served buffet style.

We were a little bummed last time. The majority of the characters spent alot of time outside as opposed to inside. We missed out on several interactions.

Will I do it again? Probably. Just because there was one so-so experience doesnt mean Im ruling them out for a future visit.

Sherry...Im hopping on your GK bandwagon. We've eaten here both trips we've taken and fully intend on going again during our upcoming stay. The food was amazing and we loved the interaction.

When I ask my 2 dd what they are most excited about, they say "GOING TO GOOFYS KITCHEN". Go figure.

I have to admit, that I too am pretty excited to do it again. Im going with a girlfriend that hasnt experienced a character meal before, so this will be extra exciting.

Is the breakfast at GK just as good as the dinner?

ETA: With reguards to the chairs, they are uncomfortable. And when I looked closely at the table, it was really really dirty. I dont mean like it needed to be wiped down, I mean it appeared as though they all needed to be taken outside for a good pressure washing. Lots of nasty build up.

We love Breakfast with Minnie. We have taken grandkids on two seperate occasions and saw a lot of characters. In fact it was hard to eat at times because the characters kept coming by. Also the food is good.
We also do Goofys kitchen and Lilo/Stitch without any complaints.
We are going again in about 49 days and I am hoping we have another great trip with great character meals. We will be taking two more of our granddaughters for their fourth birthdays and we are (0fcourse) wanting everything extra magical for them.
