Plaza ADR Changes

I read on the Disney Food Blog and WDW Magic that the Plaza will be walk-up only after 12 noon soon. We currently have an 11:20 am ADR on a MK day but would really like to eat there later during the day (we have a Crystal Palace ADR at 8:05 and would like to eat lunch a little later). I have a couple of questions for Disney dining experts.

1. When would I need to cancel our ADR in order not to be charged?

2. Would we be able to make a "day of" ADR earlier during the day?

Any help would be appreciated.

1) Usually you'd need to cancel about 24 hours in advance, but I'd double check your email confirmation to be safe. 2 I'm not sure about. I would think you probably can't and that they want it to be strictly walk up, but not 100% sure on that one. I'd sure like it if you could.
