I'm seriously not tormenting you, Karen.....I'm just in mourning right now. Victoria told me she never wants to go back to Disney. I'm heartbroken and crushed! I'll just have to find someone to travel with from now on. It really sucks!
As for Playlist, I had to send them an email as the girls didn't get to use their line passes which were $50 per person. This is the response I received, "Hi Ann Marie,
I'm so sorry that you had a bad experience this weekend. I am going to work to make this right for you, I can promise you that.
I'll start by saying I will absolutely refund your line pass, I'm very sorry for any hassle all of this has caused you. I also wanted to give you a more thorough reply back.
We worked really hard to make some serious changes to our event compared to prior years. Here are some of them, just so you can get a better idea of how we intended to keep everyone entertained and take a lot more from the event than just meet-ups/signings:
1. We brought more talent to participate in all aspects of the event (community panels, business panels, stage performances, dance parties, meet-ups/signings)
2. We expanded the meet-up/signing spaces available by adding a massive air conditioned tent and acquiring two additional ballrooms around the hotel
3. We added a full-scale stage to the Expo Hall that was busy all day with entertainment and panels
4. We added breakout room programming throughout the weekend for general attendees to learn about the industry of online video
5. We added a ton of business day panels on Friday, Saturday & Sunday to create even more interesting activities
6. We added a weekend-long pool party that took place at the resort pool
7. We even built an entire outdoor festival area complete with all-day entertainment, food trucks, bounce houses & more!
8. We tripled both the security staff and line control staff from last year
9. We worked hard with talent and their management to increase the maximum length of meet-up/signings to fit in as many people as possible.
Regardless of the additions we made, I know there was definitely room for improvement to help make everyone's experience more enjoyable, less stressful and better in general.
You spent hard-earned money to come to this event and the last thing I want is for attendees to have a bad time. Here are a few separate options I can offer you, and it's completely your choice to pick a fair resolution:
1. If you bought a line pass, I can refund that right away at your request
2. If you give me your ticket order number and shirt size for the attendees who experienced problems, I can have my team put together a YouTuber merchandise care package and have it shipped out to you completely free
To keep everyone safe on Sunday, we doubled security and throttled the speed at which attendees could enter the convention area. This helped prevent running and messy lines, but led to disappointed fans when a meet-up/signing for a few hours later was fully maxed out within a few minutes.
We try to make it clear to all attendees that it is physically impossible for them to meet everyone they want to see, and many fans share the same favorites, which makes it tough for the fans, the YouTubers and us, but we will use your feedback to set those expectations more clearly in the future.
All of that being said, our goal is to provide the best experience for everyone. That's why we started this event, and why I'm sending you this email.
I really would appreciate it if you could take a couple minutes and reply with advice/tips you think could improve our next event.
In the future we're making serious additional changes that take into account the massive increase in draw to specific meet-ups/signings to prevent the issues we had this year.
Please reply and let me which solution you think is fair and I'll work to get it moving as quickly as possible.
I appreciate you taking the time to reach out to us because it gives me a chance to fix it.
Thanks so much,
Jared
