Did they discontinue the Playhouse Disney character breakfast/lunch?? I read somewhere today that it's gone, but my wife made an ADR just today and no one said anything about it.

Now I'm wondering.

We're gonna be there March 15-19, '09

I looked on Disney's website and they don't mention anything about it being closed. Having said that, we tried it in september and was not very impressed. The food was alright, nothing great. If we had not been on Free Dining, I would have been upset with the cost. I believe it was 65.00 for my wife, son, and I. Not worth it, when you compare character dinning at O'hana or even Chef Mickey's. And I am not a huge fan of Chef Mickey's. We went because our 4 year old loves all the Playhouse Disney shows. But, once was enough for us. My suggestion would be to see the Playhouse Disney show at Hollywood studios and save you character dining for somewhere else. One man's opinion. Have a great trip no matter what you decide.

There is no indication that is going away, but we were not impressed either when we went last year. While at the time my kids enjoyed the Little Einsteins characters, they didn't get excited about them like they did the classic characters at Chef Mickey or any of the Princess meals.

It was still there in Oct. We enjoyed breakfast there in the past, but lunch was cheap and aweful.

I am not sure if it still there. When we went last year the food was ok. We were not there for the food. My DS3 (at the time) loved the characters. he also is a big fan of the Little Einsteins and Jojo and Goliath. He still gets excited just looking at the pictures.

Yeah, this isn't our only character meal on the trip for sure.

We're doing Crystal Palace Breakfast, Cinderella's Royal Table and Ohana also.

This one is specifically for my two year old son, who's into Little Einsteins and because we're gonna be at Hollywood Studios anyway. Plus, I've done Sci Fi and Prime Time Cafe many times so I don't need to go to either one really.

Is it really BAD? Or just limited as a food option? If it's perfectly acceptable food and not "BAD", then it's okay...since we're going there for the little one anyway.

We had breakfast there the end of November and it was still a character breakfast and I thought it was very good! We were the third family in the restaurant and our server was extreamely attentive and nice. My son LOVED the characer interactions and we thought the food was good and very comparable in style and quality to Chef Mickey's. My son just loved the Mickey waffles.

We went last year when my DD was 3. She loves Little Einsteins and Jojo, so for us, as long as that made her happy, it was worth it. I thought the food was as good as any of the other Disney buffets. Honestly, DH and I have never been buffet people, but we go to these meals because DD loves the characters. I thought the food was no better or worse than any of the other character buffets, and we have tried them all. Frankly, I just don't get the rave reviews I see of CP. Just another Disney buffet. Don't be worried about bad food, though. I've yet to go to any of them and think the food was really bad. We always leave full and satisfied. It's just not food to write home about, but the overall experience is what makes it worth it.

By the way, we'll be there at the same time you are. We go 3/11 -3/19. See you there!

We went last February, my kids were 8 & 10 both times we went in as walk ups, a minute or two wait, it was empty, those with young kids who enjoy Playhouse Disney would love it. The character interaction is great!. We enjoyed the food so much we went back for breakfast on our 2nd Hollywood Studios Day. I would definitely recommend breakfast only lunch and dinner not at all:scared:

What did you find wrong with the lunch and dinner options? We are booked here for lunch on our next trip.

I didn't like any of the food. I tried it on our first trip and thought maybe it was just bad because I was having a bad day or bad service. I decided to try again this past February for the Fantasmic package and again food was disgusting:sick: . I dont remember what in particular, I just remember it all being pretty nasty.:scared:

We're booked there for lunch also. LOL.

Well, I'm sure it'll be alright. If I can stomach taking my kids for nasty buffet pizza I'm sure I can handle this. And we're on the DDP so the cost won't be as painful as if it was out of pocket. Even if it's bad, I can suffer once for my son. :)

Now when you say that, do you eat at the other character buffets for meals other than breakfast and have similar complaints (meaning do you have a similar opinion of the other buffets also or is it just something wrong with this location). We have eaten at 1900 for dinner and crystal for lunch and I am wondering if the food is similar in quality and taste to those. The line ups look similar judging by the menu on Allearsnet.

We went in November for our 3 year old who loves the Einsteins. The food was good but limited for breakfast but the characters were awesome and even sat down with my son and played with him. It was one of the better meals for interaction.

I have eaten at Chef Mickeys (Breakfast & Dinner), Ohana (Breakfast & Dinner), Crystal Palace (Breakfast and Dinner), Askerhus (Breakfast & Lunch), Hollywood N Vine (Breakfast & Dinner) and others. Hollywood n Vine Dinner/Lunch was the worst meal we have ever had while in Disney, but we loved the breakfast. But that’s just my opinion!

See now that scares me. Some people are turned off by the buffets in general, but knowing you are cool with all the others and this one was that bad in your opinion does give me pause.
