We are driving from NH in May and I'm looking for some suggestions where to stop with a 3 and 5 year old to let them get energy out. It needs to be very slight detour 5-10 min max and inexpensive. McDonalds and BK play places and malls are ideal. Is there an app for that one that will tell me what's along my route and how far of the route it is?

I am driving from Maine during April vacation. What route are you taking? I've been advised to stay off of 95 through NY, but the alternate route seems like the long way around...

We are going to keep with 95 because it will probably be 8-9 at night,so my experience is it won't make much difference that late. Hopefully we will make it through Baltimore before we feel the need to stop so we won't need to worry about the DC traffic either. We're a little worried about Boston though

95 goes around Boston, not through it. Barring weather or construction, you shouldn't run into any traffic after 8 or 9 PM.

Yes but during rush hour it's still a bear and we will hit Boston early between 4 and 6 depending on when we get out of work to get started.

Don't go thru NYC at any time. Take the Tappan Zee to the Garden State Parkway and then get back on 95/ New jersey Turnpike. It's less expensive to bypass the GW Bridge and they are almost always doing maintenance at night and either the upper level or the lower level is closed during the maintenance. This makes for a lot of traffic and takes time. Going around also gets you better roads. The Cross Bronx expressway has got to be the worst highway in the US.
