We did the Play & Dine lunch buffet in Dec 06. The kids really enjoyed, but it took forever to meet all the characters -- everytime they stopped to dance, the characters stopped greeting guests at the tables. Problem was, when they started up again, they tended to lose their place. Our seating time was at 1:00pm, we finished at 2:45!!!!

The kids want to go there again on our Sept trip. I thought I would try the first breakfast seating. Will I get out in time for rope drop? Anyone tried this recently?

We had the 1st seating at Playhouse Disney last August ans were out in plenty of time for the rope drop, however it was not that crowded. I would sy depending on the size of the crowd there you should be. It seems to get more crowded as the 8:45 seating time rolled around. Hope this helps

In Aug. we had an 8:05am ADR thinking we will make it out by rope drop. Were we wrong. We didn't get out til 9:35am. We were seated promptly and there were only about 8-9 families on our side of the restaurant. It took forever to see all the characters. At least 3 other families gave up and left at 9am. We thought it was just new and they couldn't get the timing right. After this experience we swear not to do early breakie again.

Goliath kept getting his tail stuck in the chairs and dragging them around; so funny.

The best part was getting in early and my son got a picture wearing the sorcerhat with no one in the background; totally cool!

That's the experience I don't want! It is too hard to drag the kids away from a character they haven't yet met. We can meet all of these characters right on Mickey Ave.

By the way, I have had the 1st seating at Crystal Palace and was out about 10 minutes before rope drop.

We have been to Play and Dine twice, once in November and once in February. Both times we had 8:00 am ADR. In November we waited and waited and waited but Jo Jo and Goliath never got over to our side of the restuarant even though there was hardly any one there. I got my DD out of the restaurant by promising that we would see them at their trailer, which we did later in the day. In February we had no problems, all the characters came over in timely manner and we were in and out in no time, before rope drop !!! By the way we love the the Play and Dine meal, I thought it had terrific choices and everything was hot and tasty. Have Fun !!

We've eaten at H&V twice - both times at the first lunch seating which is 11:40. It was great both times. The food was fresh, we saw the characters several times each, and we didn't have to get out of bed early. It didn't take more than about an hour and my daughter LOVED it. The mini dance parties were really fun too.
