Platinum to Gold??

We just bought DVC yesterday! (Hooray)

We currently have Platinum annual passes but would like to "downgrade" to Gold.
Can we do this and still get the renewal price?
Right now, it only gives us the option to buy gold passes online and only gives us the option to renew Platinum or Platinum plus (at non DVC price).

Anyone have experience with this??

You can get a renewal rate for any eligible level of AP, up or down.

(If buying before the end of the year, the current DVC deal is getting a Platinum Plus AP for the same price as Gold)

Then it certainly makes sense to get that one!

Will my MDE be updated (eventually) to do that? It definitely recognizes me as DVC (since it allows me to buy a gold) but will only allow me to renew at regular price.

All of the new pass options are a little confusing to me. I'm also not always sure a year ahead of time when I'll want to go to Disney.
