As a Platinum Castaway Club member you get a room service gift (sparkling wine, truffles, cheese/fruit plate). On my last cruise I asked what the choices were and I thought the cast member said there was a non-alcoholic gift. I am really not sure because I was just listening to make sure the sparkling wine option was still available. Did I just mishear the cast member on the phone or is there a new non-alcoholic option for the in-room gift?

Yes, you can request a non-alcoholic bottle as the gift. The last 2 times I got a bottle of Cloudem.

Ditto.....I requested a non-alcoholic gift and was given Cloudem Blue. This was last October on the Dream out of NYC.

Last week on the Fantasy, we received both a card in our stateroom and a voicemail message telling us to call room service and let them know which of the platinum gifts we wanted to receive. They brought us our wine about 10-15 minutes after we made the call.

I think my “proactively” comment should be directed at myself. Just as @llachance mentioned. 🤭

If my sister hadn’t asked me, I probably would just let it slide every cruise. Short check-in line, early booking cruises ($ savings on opening day) and excursions and a free meal at Palo are the perks I appreciate.

I've definitely forgotten, especially on short cruises because we're so busy going to all of the different places and activities. Once, we totally forgot, on another cruise, we forgot, then on the last night, we got chocolates in our room (which I'd forgotten was one of the options so it took us a while to figure out why we were getting chocolates). Once, I forgot, but fortunately DH saw the note and called and was asked if we wanted a cheese tray at the same time, so we sat on the verandah with the wine and cheese. I'm trying to make myself remember the next time but it's another short cruise with friends so odds are that we will forget. The perks are not what keep us going back - for both of our recent cruises on the Wish, we've not bothered with Palo, although we will be doing that this time with friends. I usually take most advantage of the 10% discount in the stores and earlier check-in and short check-in line. But I'm not averse to a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine if only my remembery will cooperate.
