Planning a transatlantic in 2020. I'm platinum, my husband is gold (will be platinum after the transatlantic). Are there any options besides taking a quickie cruise before the booking opens that will allow me to book two rooms (connecting SPH rooms) on day one? I don't think there is, but we sail with our BFs and I don't think we're going to be able to score the second SPH room by the time Gold opens up.

Are you wanting to use an OBB for the cruise? If not, there shouldn't be any issue with you booking 2 rooms when you call in as far as I'm aware of. Disney wants you to spend as much money as you want with them. If you do want to use an OBB, you could just use it for the one room and book the other one at the regular rate.

I had no idea since I'm the only platinum person in the whole group, that DCL would let me book *2* rooms on opening day.

I'm not sure this is correct. I believe on those early-booking dates for Platinum CC - there must be at least 1 Platinum CC member booked into each stateroom. The next day (Gold booking date) OP could book a second room with her DH as lead.

OP - you could try to confirm the rules with DCL, though I'm not sure I'd put much confidence in responses from the phone reps, especially since it isn't time for booking new itineraries right now. But unless someone takes another quick cruise to bump up CC status, I believe you will only be allowed to book 1 stateroom on Platinum day and then DH (or the other party) can book another on the Gold day.

Enjoy your cruise!

You may be right as much as they've changed the rules over time.

This is correct in my recent experience and we had to wait to book our 2nd room with DH as Lead on the Gold booking day.
