Planning? Who does Your Planning?

me, myself and I...........I love to plan vacations!

My hubby trusts me with all of the planning since I am a Disney nut, but I do not leave him out totally...I book the vacation, and he pays for it!!! (LOL)

I do all of the planning and I love it. My husband helps me decide on our PSs though. I love visiting these boards and gathering great tips for our trips.

I have always done the planning on our trips, but this year my DW wants to plan the dinners, etc. Her parents are coming along for the second time, so she's enjoying showing them the World! But now she's INFRINGING on my planning! That's okay, I am looking forward to seeing what she comes up with...

I do all the planning because I'm the best person in our family to do so, my DH has no clue in what other to do the "go with the feel", I on the other hand know the PS's don't often come with that LOL. My DD 9,5 can't do the planning as she has surprises coming her way and I don't want her to know about it. For her just knowing we're going is all she needs to get all excited!

Just got back and really want to go again..NOW Isn't happening, DH says not until December 2006!!!!!

All four of us (DMS, DW, DD, and DS). We all plan the days in the parks, when and where, and rides (sometimes we need to split up). Each of us gets to pick a favorite eating place, and we pick the rest on consensus (most votes are unanimous for everything anyway!).

I do all of the planning, but I do ask for input when it comes to what restaurants we would like to eat at. Everything else, I take care of. I couldn't do it without the DIS boards though! What a help they have been!

Let's see...I'm the one who reads all the guidebooks, DisBoards, goes to the DS all the time, looks for Mickey heads whenever we go to Home Depot...you think my DH does any of the planning? Ha!

Actually, since we usually travel with my parents, my mom and I do all the planning. I ask for input from my DH, get the "whatever you like" response, and then go forward from there.

Did anyone who responded to this poll admit that they do NO planning for their Disney vacations??? I think NOT!

For this trip, I am doing ALL the planning for several reasons:
A) BF doesn't even know we're going (shhh!).
B) BF has never been to WDW.
C) I am a preparations and control freak!
D) BF has lost tickets to local events...would not trust him with anything outside city limits.
E) See C.

I think that about covers it. Maybe next time I'll give him a little input...nah, who am I kidding?! Though, I do like the multiple choice menus!

I never really thought of it that way , but it really makes sense, since I have never traveled alone with my mother. Thanks for the reassurance!

helenk That is a good idea about printing the menu's on Deb's site I will have to look through them and print a few for my mom to look at and maybe we can pick a place together!

i do the planning and then present an itinerary to all those on the trip. this usually prompts lots of questions about what is what, what can I eat there, how scary is this so everyone gets involved. In the end everyone feels like they've contributed and i get to talk about WDW as much as I want while sounding really knowledgeable LOL

I love research of any kind, and it's no different when it comes to vacation. Plus, I'm a type A, and I expect most of you are too! Organization and planning come naturally to me and I love it! I have taken WDW vacations with both close and extended family and on every trip they leave the planning to me. They THINK they are imposing, and some have apologized for not helping, but in reality, any DISer knows that "working" on this trip is pure pleasure!

I voted that I do the planning with the help of others BUT

that is only for feedback of what the others in our group have for their Must see/do list.

Other than that input....It is me all the way!!! I love it! I also love to talk my dh ear off about it!

My sister is the Disney planner and she tells me what she wants done
I abide by her wishes and throw in a few of my own and we somehow end up having a very magical time!

unfortunately i do all planning. I will ask DH and the kids what they want to bring and they say nothing bla bla. then we get to the hotel, parks and they will say, where is this that or the other and i will say, you didn't say you wanted it and then there is the well i expected you to bring it. I have a rule now. if you specifically want it pack it yourself otherwise don't expect to find it in the suitcase!

I think all of us on here basically love to plan these trips!! I love to do all the detail. We are going on our trip in January and I already have our lists all typed out. I am a firm believer that if you just have a ton of pre planning, you're better prepared!!!

Nobody ever wants to help plan. It drives me nuts. They want to go, and are happy about it, but don't want to get involved with picking rides/restaurants.

But the worst part is that there's no one to share the excitement of finishing the plans with!

What I hate is being excited all by my lonesome!!! I feel for you! I don't like it when I'm booking the trip and my husband is just giving me the "you're crazy" look just because I'm excited about it! We save up and then put the spending money in savings and purchase the whole trip online so I always get really excited because I no longer say "we are thinking about going", I know we are done and the planning begins!!!!!
