Planning Weddings for those Not-yet Engaged!

Hey guys! I'm up late because I'm too excited to sleep (like that Disney commercial :rotfl: ) How is everyone?

Did everyone go out and vote yesterday? Did you guys follow the election? I was glued to the computer at work all night. I burst into tears when they announced "President Elect Barack Obama" and I sobbed even harder during his speech. I'm still in shock and awe really, that I just witnessed history happen. Annnd now I'm done be sappy/cheesy :lmao: I just had to get it out of me because I'm stoked!

Me Too!! Dh and I early voted on Friday but I was glued to the tv last night, flipping between CNN and once it was on...John Stewart and Stephen Colbert's Indecision 2008...It was there that I heard the official announcement..straight out of John Stewart's mouth, that it was Barack Obama!!! I was doing a lot of this !! Ok maybe not literally...lol but in my head!! Had to turn it back to CNN to get the full news, but to conclude...I concur with you!!! This is truly an amazing time for America!!

I was watching the election last night also, and I was so ecstatic when I heard that Obama won!

A lot of my friends now want to move to Australia though lol.

I was at work so I was stuck watching a live news feed on cnn.com and refreshing both cnn's and msnbc's websites every five seconds. Trust me, mentally I too looked like this:  I swear, I thought I was going to burst from excitement. My cheeks still hurt from smiling so big

I was watching the election last night also, and I was so estatic when I heard that Obama one!

A lot of my friends now want to move to Australia though lol.

:rotfl: :rotfl:
It's ok, my very, very, very Republican parents said they want to move out of the country and they are in the process of "disowning" me. My dad won't even answer my calls and my mom said she won't be able to look at me the same way ever again

I got disowned by my youth group by being a little to outspoken lol. I said I'm all for Obama and that I was also for Gay Marriage, and that I'm not ashamed of it.

My parents are democrats, so I didn't get to much trouble from them lol. They are a little peeved that I refuse to go to church anymore though lol.

ETA: BTW, Arelys, can I steal that "I voted for Barack Obama" image in your signature?

I voted for our local elections, we can't vote for the president. Still, I'm incredibly happy that Obama won, it makes the pain of having the worst governor in our history elected a little easier. Now I'm considering moving to the US sooner than I planned.

That's awful! I'm glad that there are people like you though, that are not ashamed to stand up for what they believe in. I can't blame you at all for not wanting to go back.

I'm almost afraid to go home for Christmas because of what my family might say or do. I'm so liberal and outspoken and horribly unapologetic about my views, while almost all of my family is very Christian or Catholic and very, very conservative and old-fashioned...they would probably have my head on a platter if they found out I supported Obama and was very passionate about voting no on amendment 2 here in Florida

Of course! Steal away. I actually stole it from someone myself :thumbsup2

I'm hearing that more and more people who don't live in the US are beyond thrilled about Obama winning. I honestly can't imagine a better time to move here :)

Hi All!!!!

OMG I'm so glad I saw the title of this thread!!! I'm not engaged yet (hopefully wont be long - maybe at Disneyland Paris in January??!) but can't wait for my wedding!!

Jack's agreed to WDW and we're thinking hopefully April 2011, depedning on school breaks and stuff as I don't want it to be during a busy time!! :)

Anyway,

I'm Victoria, I'm 23 and I live in Surrey in England (about 20 minutes away from London) I met Jack at University and we've been going out for 4 years and living together for 1 (with my parents but moving out November 22nd!)

We have a beautiful little cat called Bella. I love ALL thing Disney, especially the little mermaid, beauty and the beast and enchanted. :)

I have a cat named Bella!!!! Nice to meet you Victoria and welcome to our thread!

I was happy with the election too. I told my dd to remember that moment. Wow, that was history in the making.

I got my new comforter!!! I ended up with the black & tan. I got black sheets and my tanish color curtains match already. So, now I am going to find some pictures with color, probably red and get some red pillows. viola, a new bedroom!!! It only took a year and a half after my divorce.

I'm having some issues with one of DBF's best friends. He is the ex-bf of one of my friends, so he tells her a lot of stuff. He's just being nasty, talking behind our backs about us not lasting and that we should break up, but acting totally fine when we're around. My friend told me and I had to tell my DBF, so he's very upset and can't believe his friend did that. Plus, there may be a confrontation between them soon. It sucks that you can't even trust your friends.

I'm glad that you understand! It makes me feel so much better :)

My family is Italian/Irish Catholic. So I totally understand the strict religion perspective.

I totally voted No on Amendment 2, and spent much of the last week promoting my facebook friends to do the same. I have quite a few missing friends from my list, all conservatives lol.

I tried to steal the little Obama thing, but it didn't fit in my signature. I'm going to put it on photobucket later and make it smaller and see if that helps.

Yay for starting new! That's awesome! Such a step in the right direction! The new bedroom sounds pretty :)

Thats just TERRIBLE!!! I can't believe he did that to you. Here's hoping it all works out

A Disneyland Paris engagement sounds amazing! I do hope it happens for you. I'm jumping on the pet named Bella bandwagon here. I had a Siberian Husky named Bella who was the most beautiful dog ever.

I love Beauty and the Beast too

I'm sure nobody will be able to forget where they were the very moment Obama was announced president elect.

The new bedroom sound great! You should post some pictures when you are done, we would all love to see it.

What an awful thing for him to do. He sounds really immature and dare I say jealous of what you and your DBF have. I know it is easier said then done, but brush it off and ignore him. I hope it all works out for you

Beauty in the Beast is one of my favorite Disney films.

You are right about never forgetting where you were when you heard. Just like 911, I will never forget that.

My whole family is catholic too.

I am still sick. I started getting better and now my cough is worse. Ugghh my back hurts from coughing. :confused3

Thanks for all the warm welcomes everyone!! :) Great to hear there are so many Bella's out there! Although somehow we always call her Belba and not bella anymore - just seems to fit her cheeky nature more!!

I'm not American but am over the moon that Obama won, I really believe he will do such good things for not just the US but the rest of the world too!!

:)

You know, it would be awesome to have like a chat or something over AIM with all you girls! lol

I have aim. I'm not on it a lot, but I could be.

I think I've changed my mind. I want a Disney wedding.
