Hi all

We are going to wdw in november for two weeks. Whilst we are there it will be my birthday.

How would you plan the perfect day.

We are staying on site and have ultimate park hopper tickets. I have a ps for California grill at 18:20 but nothing else planned.
Thought about afternoon tea at GF.
Any ideas?

Thanks
Charley

Glad you found us::yes:: :wave2: A perfect day for me would include touring MK and having a dole whip.Maybe schedule a behind the scenes your like Keys To The Kingdom or the Train Tour if you are a RR buff.Arrive early and get a nice photo in front of Castle while MK is almost deserted.I'm sure others will give you some good tips also.::yes:: :wave2:

My perfect disney day all happened without my having to plan it! We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge, so we had breakfast at the Whispering Canyon Cafe. Yummy! We got to ride in the pony race. (I have the certificate to prove it!)

We went to MK. We got our pictures taken right inside the park, with the castle in the background. We looked really good! The Dapper Dans sang happy birthday to me. Then, a CM asked if we would like to do something really fun. How about being Grand Marshalls in the parade? Duh! Of course, we said yes.

Well, you get the idea. Other special things happened, but I didn't expect them. It was a wonderful day, and a wonderful memory. The rest of my vacation was more normal.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, just enjoy yourself. (And don't forget to get the birthday button at City Hall!)

danny1649,

might sound silly but what is a dole whip ? I'm guessing ice cream ?
Like the early morning photo idea in front of the castle.

Thanks

Everyday at Disney is my perfect day! ;) Well it sure beats a day in Atlanta's traffic with the smog alert on high.

What things make you happy and relaxed? A good meal? A massage? A hot cup of tea sounds super nice, I think you would like GF's Afternoon tea. Very refined and relaxing.

My perfect day would be hitting the parks for MK opening. Riding all my favorites then heading over to Epcot for lunch at Teppanyaki. Afternoon would be spent riding my fav Epcot rides. Dinner would be someplace fun and different and the whole restaurant would sing HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALLISON! (Hey, its my perfect day, right?) I'd top off my evening watching Illuminations on my honey's arm.

awwwww...

I'm doing the same thing on my upcoming trip. For my perfect Disney birthday day I'm starting off with breakfast at O'hana at 7:45 am. Then we'll get to MK at opening and ride all my favorite rides and get my favorite treat, a dole whip. Then it's back to our resort (Saratoga Springs) to swim for awhile (if it's bad weather we will substitue shopping at DTD). Then it will be time to nap and then shower and change for the evening. We'll head to Epcot where I'll get a quick spin in on Mission:Space. We'll see the 7:00 performance by Three Dog Night. Then I have dinner reservations at Le Cellier at 7:30. After dinner it will be time to get a spot for Illuminations...maybe get one of those little cafe tables in France that are on the water where I can get a glass of champagne. Then we'll head to Pleasure Island where I can go to my favorite club, the Adventurer's Club!

By the way CharleyUK, a dolewhip is soft serve pineapple ice cream. You can get it as is, swirled with vanilla, or in pineapple juice (a pineapple float). They also serve chocolate soft serve but I don't consider that a dole whip. It's got to have pineapple to be a dole whip. And you can see from my tag how I feel about dole whips. :)

Totally off topic, but I was in Paris for my last birthday. We went to Musee d'Orsay and ate lunch in their restaurant right under one of the big clocks. We were at DLP the day before. I had thought about spending my birthday there, but I wanted to go on an uncrowded day. BTW, DLP is terrific and beautiful. Don't believe the bad press. If you love MK and MGM, you would love DLP. Okay, back to the topic....If I were you I'd go to my favorite ride and ride it over and over again.

Missypie

I agree about DLP, we went a few years ago and had a great time, a lot colder than WDW, it snowed during the parade.
Well it was Paris in December but still it was warmer than here in the UK.

It looks like MK is everyones favorite place to spend my birthday so far.

Any ideas for breakfast or lunch in MK (don't think i'd get CRT now!)

Thanks
Charley

You're right Dole Whip is pineapple soft serve ice cream,yummy.::yes:: :wave2:

Can you plan a perfect day? Sure, you can PLAN it, but then something like a hurricane comes a long to alter your plans! Good luck and have fun, but don't overplan. Sometimes magic will only happen when you aren;t looking for it..... ;)

Laying at the pool and not moving a muscle except for the occasional dip.

Stitchchick : I agree about overplanning but the temptation is hard after reading all the advice on these forums!

I spent my last birthday in the US which was lovely but a few things spolt it a little. We arrived in Palm Springs after a great week in Las Vegas to be met by the most unfriendly hotel staff I have ever met! We woke up (on my birthday) to discover that the hotel was undergoing refurbishment and breakfast was served with the sound of drills and hammering. I then got ill and after 3 days I ended up in the a&e department (ER dept for US readers). So this year I want everthing to go well.

My DH has said he will book at flight with warbirdsadventures for my birthday present (last year we flew over the grand canyon, this is becomming a theme!), so this may fill part of the day.

Any more advice very welcome.

Thanks
Charley

Don't know if this is what you are referring to, but I believe there is a hot air balloon ride that you can take over Orlando, although I believe the airspace above WDW might be restricted now - really not sure:confused:

Anyway, if you are looking for a special lunch at MK, why not do the castle - it should not be hard to book for lunch. (At least that is what I have heard :D )

Whatever you decide, have a great day!
