Hi guys,

I've been snooping around the forum for a couple of months now ;) and finally got around to registering, so hi!

My partner and I are planning a really big holiday for next year, so we've booked a club level lagoon view room at the Poly for 3 weeks with the deluxe dining plan for October 2015. Wallet took a bit of a hit.... :rotfl:

Given we've got the deluxe plan and we're on property for 3 weeks, we've got time to have dinner at all the signature restaurants over our stay. Rather than trying to get all the places we want via online ADR, I'm wondering if it would just be easier to make use of the concierge / planner facility for club level?

I was wondering if it was possible just to essentially email them closer to our stay and say "we'd like to have dinner at 8pm at the restaurants below, spread across our 3 weeks"? I'm really not worried about which restaurant we do on which days, given magic hours etc may chop and change. Are we likely to get what we want if we just use the concierge, or should we do it ourselves?

I quite fancy doing the Chef's table at V&A, but know this can be tricky to get too. Is that something the concierge can also help with?

Any other tips would be appreciated !

Thanks in advance! :goodvibes

yes, you can definitely let the concierge book all of your signature ADRs and V&A, although i think you need to give them specific dates and times - not just say any days over 3 weeks

i found it easier to book everything myself.
Where they came in handy was if i had a problem getting a reservation.

You're trip sounds like it is going to be amazing!!
I was so close to booking Poly for our trip (this August), last May when I booked. I'm glad I didn't now because of the construction, but it will be pretty much done when you go!

You can either go through IPO or do it yourself online.

If you have a list of restaurants you want to do and a rough idea of dates and times, you can get in touch with IPO a few weeks before your 180 and have them book for you

that's a service you're paying for in your club level booking. So don't be afraid to use it.

I hope so :D

Yes, the construction was a bit of a concern but, as you say, hopefully it should be pretty much done for our visit!

That's great! Just what I was hoping for. Although a lot of the fun is making all the reservations and doing the planning, I'd rather make sure we get exactly what we want :)

Best of luck getting the chefs table at the V & A. I wanted to get that as a birthday gift for my DH who happens to be a chef. I tried on exactly 180 days out but unfortunately couldn't get it for any of our 15 nights. I'd be very interested to see if concierge is able to pull any strings for this. We're going first 2 weeks of October which in theory is a quiet time except the the holiday weekend so I must admit I was quite surprised not to get any night especially given the cost.

Yeah, I guess this is really what I meant by my initial question. I know V&A chef's table is a difficult one to get, so I wondered whether the concierge can simply arrange this before the bookings go on 'general release'. Because otherwise, it would look pretty bad for the concierge if you trusted them to make all your bookings and then you end up not getting it, but you may have had a chance if you did it yourself!

I guess closer to the 180 day mark, I'll just shoot an email direct to the IPO with this question and see what they say. I'll report back unless someone else has experience of doing this via concierge!

On a completely separate note, MDE is now letting me link my reservation and customise magic bands, which I didn't think it did until the 200 day mark! Depressingly, the site also reminds me "468 Days To Go" :badpc: :rotfl:

I can't help you with this particular question but welcome to the boards and have a great time planning your trip! :-)

:welcome:

I have used IPO once but that was way before MDE came on the scene :rotfl2:

I would probably ask them to do V&A and then do the rest myself online. ADRs are easy and none of the signatures are that difficult at 180 days. You can then have them all linked as I don't know how IPO works with linking them to your MDE account.
