So the time has finally come for us to go down to our official planning and tasting sessions. When I first booked the appointment it seemed so far away and now in two short days we will be flying down to WDW! We fly down to stay with friends on Thursday afternoon. Our planning session is on Friday morning at 9:00 am, and then our tasting at the GF is Friday afternoon at 3:00 pm. And I've also set up an appointment to meet Randy Chapman while we are in town, and that will be at 4:30 pm. So Friday will be jam packed! :scared:

I can't believe the time has come, mostly because I feel like I am soooo incredibly behind schedule with what I need to do for the wedding. So once again I am coming to my far wiser DISers for advice :grouphug: I'm open to suggestions, reminders, lists, ideas....anything and everything. What should I bring? What should I ask?? What am I forgetting??? Help :scared1:

How exciting.. Hope you have a great time... Please post a TR when you get back.....

Have fun:surfweb:

I'm an intimate and don't have a planning session, so I can't suggest what to ask. But have fun and relax! Update us with all your choices when you get back.

wow!! Have a great time and take lots of photos-- try not to spoil yourself too much before the big day!! Tell Randy we say hello:wave2: ..

Just remember to have samples of your colors. Anythings that you feel are a must for you. Most of all. Have fun with the planning!

Wow, you must be so excited :goodvibes

All I brought with me was a picture of my wedding dress, swatches of my colors, and my save-the-date. I know some people have brought pics of bouquets and centerpieces to help DFTW get a better idea.

Have fun and good luck! Enjoy the cake :cutie:

Make sure you have a list of all your unanswered questions, and a notebook to write the answers in. Bring your camera for pics of everything. Bring pictures of all the dresses and boquets, and any other ideas you have about setup or linens or whatever. Swatches too so DIsney floral can match colors.

At the tasting, they'll bring you TONS of food, so make sure to just have a few bites of everything, even though you'll want to eat more. The cake tasting portions are tiny, so make small pieces so you can test lots of combos.

Take time to stop by all the places you're thinking of doing events the week of your wedding and test the public transportation if you're thinking your guests will travel that way. We did and that's what convinced us we needed the busses all day instead of just when DIsney requires. Also, test the walk from the GF to the WP if you're going to be doing pics in GF and ceremony in WP. It's a lot longer walk than it looks like and it made us decide to get a limo for the bridal party.

Make sure you check out the gift shop in the GF near the entrance to the GF cafe for Disney wedding merchandise - some you may want to get now instead of waiting.

And don't forget to have fun!!! It goes by so fast!

How exciting! Mine is in less than two weeks:)

How did you arrange the tasting? My planner hasn't mentioned anything about it, only the cake tasting. I was really looking forward to tasting stuff from the menu. Do I need to ask for it?

Yes, you need to ask for it!

Get on the phone ASAP. The menu tasting was one of the highlights from planning the wedding!

Most places can't confirm the menu tasting until 3 weeks out from your PS date anyways, so you should still be able to get one.

Are you having a Custom wedding? Definitely call right away. They will send you a form to fill out of exactly what dishes you want to sample. I seriously can't wait to sample all the cake flavors and food too   Friday will not be a very diet friendly day for me :rotfl:

Thank you all for all your advice. :thanks: I can't wait to come back and post my own TR!

I can't believe it. Our planning session has come and gone. I feel a great sense of accomplishment, like we got a lot of important stuff taken care of, but now I have a whole new list of things to do!!!

Most importantly of course putting together a TR....if anyone is interested in reading it of course :goodvibes I hope to have it up over the next couple of days.:cool1:
